Well that is another SilenX problem. Theire ratings is just the worst ive seen.

Update: I took this advice from page 1 of this thread -
Thanks boy's!
And ordered them both. I think it worked out well for me. I am a 1 card GPU guy, and think the top slot would still have plenty of room?
What to you guys think? :)
My SB cooling is now Forged Copper with a dedicated 60mm fan rated at 12CFM! I think as long as my GPU will fit in the upper slot, I probably can officially call this an upgrade. :p:
My new 60mm Panaflo axial fan (FBA06T12L) rated at 12CFM 24dBA, with UV adapter.
I also added a 40mm Scythe Mini-Kaze (SY124010L) into my collection of parts. It is my backup plan if my GPU would have problems fitting with the 60mm fan installed.

It's skinny. Here is one shot from the side:

I have it hovering right above the sink. It actually feels pritty darn sturdy with just the 1 bolt and washers securing it to the mobo.

Do you think if I only intend to use 1 GPU, I will have space issues with this fan? The entire fan does pivot on the bolt in the upper right corner too.

I think the best 40mm fan for me turned out to be a 60mm with an adapter?
kinda O/T but does it even gets hot when you run passively? I see no point of active cooling on the SB :p:
I can't answer that, as I have yet to power my board on. :)
I guess it aught to do the job then..... :D
I will be running RAID, and a Super Fast 9 series GPU. I have heard both can add heat to a SB?
I just want to make sure I am covered... It might well be a bit Xtreme? :p:
my problem with SilenX is that all the ones I've ever had blow slightly in one direction and slightly in the other. Even when I hold them out of the case with no pressure issues. In my book this = Bad.
on another note, this 133 cfm Scythe Ultra Kaze I got is very quiet for the 95cfm airflow on a controller @ 2300rpm
Personally I would have just used one of those offset HR-05 SLI Chipset coolers passively and fairly easy to mount in just about any direction. Works well enough for the southbridge with whatever airflow is going on in the case for me.
The fan quest of yours seems like a fun project, but total overkill. :)
My SB is sitting at a rock solid 40c with just the OEM heatsink, cap removed and baseplate of the heatsink still coated with the thermal crud Asus shipped it with. It's buried underneath two Accelero S1 cooled cards, so if there's any airflow actually reaching it, it's a miracle.
The factory NB cooler is gone, using a HR-05/IFR, which is a total piece of trash when it comes to mounting on this board, btw. I do NOT recommend it.
You know how crappy the mount is on the HR-09's without your screw mod? It's nearly as bad with the HR-05, and it'll flex the board. I should have known better, the arsetacular fitment of an Ultra Extreme is half the reason I went with WC. What the HR-05 needs is a backplate.
TR must spend their mounting R&D and production money on beer too.
