There is some information about how the notches work on Noctua's site:

Interestingly, the notches are not the same on all the blades - they are staggered from blade to blade to further break up the pattern of vortices and therefore spread sound across the spectrum.
But of course none of this theory means anything until someone tests them on a rad...
Linus, can you add the yates to that test as they are the defacto standard fan for us watercoolers.

After having some thinking time on this, I don't think these fans would work too well on a GTS having only 54 CFM. The GTS needs ~70 CFM to do even a decent cooling job with decent pressured fans. For this fan to work well on a GTS, it's going to have to have every mm H²O they claim and maybe a few more.
So has anyone tested these yet?
yeah im highly interested in seeing some results!! right now im running some regular nocturas and would be willing to get these if the results are substancial enough or the noise is low enough.
I am running 3xS12 as well on my PA120.3, and i just love them at 600rpm, moving a fairly amount af air and are impossible to hear.
So if P12 are just a bit better ill buy'em!
Doing some unit conversions gets us to around 54 CFM. Roughly. So it has okay airflow, but we all know we won't be pushing 54 CFM through, say a GTS radiator. I wish Scythe would publish their static pressure specs on their new Slipstream fans: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/ac...sl_detail.html
