GIve us somme OC results !!!
fast and lots :D
Hold up, wait a minute, 2.4V CPUvoltage and 3.4V Dram?
Are you sure this is the right bios? :D
Any word on the Chipse, X38 or X48? I think that we might see Asus release X48 based Motherboard before this year is over. What's your guys Opinion? And I can't wait to see this boards results.
THX!
Hope to have some numbers tonight. Its X38 Vegettoxp.

I'm very curious about NB-temps with the heatsink/wc-block as is, because adding that 8mm thingy to a 1/2" loop is a definate no go..
Very very stock/auto settings :D No water and no xtra fans.

Very interested in the results..... would love to see some work with DDR2 800 3-3-3-6 compared to 1000 DDR2 4-4-4-12 if that is at all possible with any of your sticks :)
Set Multi x6 and fsb 500 for start:D
AC should be enough for that...
Thanks SynGroW, if overclocking is good on this board, I think I'm buying one on the 12th Muahahahahhahaahaha.
DDR800 (1:1 divider) CL3-3-3-6:

DDR1000 (4:5 divider) CL4-4-4-12
http://home.hccnet.nl/J_Bongers/maximus/1M_CL4.PNG
http://home.hccnet.nl/J_Bongers/maximus/8M_CL4.PNG
Tests done with sub-timings set to manual (but with stock subtimings, so pretty loose)
Untweaked Win2K3
Summary:
CL3 1M: 20.047
CL4 1M: 19.735
CL3 8M: 3m49.547
CL4 8M: 3m43.797
DDR1000 CL4 is faster than DDR800 CL3
Are the BIOS's the same for these two boards?
How is the PWM area guys ? hot as the P5K dlx ? I just preordered mine , damn I have to wait at least 15 days pfffff and pay it :p
You can put some insane voltage true your hardware whit this board :smoke: :D
Show us the capability´s of that nice chipset!!
mine this still in the box :| , havent even had time yet to realy look at it let alone fire it up.
Thanks a ton for that SynGroW, really appreciate you taking the time to do that, would appear X38 isnt exactly like 975x where I was getting better speeds with cas3 800, over cas4 1000.
Guess that clears that up, cant wait to get my hands on a maximus.
EDIT: Any idea on the latency differences between the 2 settings?
I am dying to see testing of the air-cooled version of this board vs. P5K Premium
come on loco get that hd2900 fired up, :yepp: whats your first impressions of the board
Ok, some first tests:
CPU vcore is undervolted by ~0,05v (difference between bios setting and CPUz)
DRAM voltage is overvolted by ~0,1v (difference between bios setting and bios monitoring)
vPLL voltage is overvolting by ~0,1v (difference between bios setting and bios monitoring)
Also vcore is dropping by 0,015v under load with load line calibration enabled according to CPUz.
Will check these results later with a DMM.
Now some overclocking:
Setup:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 ES cooled by OCZ Vindicator
Asus Maximus Formula
OCZ DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC
Asus 8600GT Silent
OCZ Powerstream 520W
Max. FSB @ vPLL 2.3v
http://home.hccnet.nl/J_Bongers/maximus/550.PNG
550MHz increasing vPLL increases max. FSB, so this result is CPU limited (validator link)
Max. mem @ 2.7v
http://home.hccnet.nl/J_Bongers/maximus/700.PNG
700MHz CL5-6-6-21 (validator link)
It seems that the memory isn't running as great as it did on my P5K. I can run 1m at the same speed on my P5K with only 2.55v (bios setting) but with different subtimings.
Also a 1M run:
http://home.hccnet.nl/J_Bongers/maximus/14640.PNG
14.640s this run is also vPLL limited (forgot to make a validation file, will do that next time)
nice info syngrow and nice fsb
Does anybody, who owns a Maximus SE, knows if a swiftech MCW-30 fits on NB?
Dont forget it's a E6300... a 4MB CPU would easily do in the 13.X or even 12,9...
Powerful!
come on loco lets see what this x38's got up to p35 you've got 2.4volt vcore to play with ouch !
