yeah, you def need a vmch mod badly, to get 1900+ stable you need 1.65+ i think.
Did the sb voltage help at all? i always left it at default so far...

max vdimm for this board is 1.95 or something right? too bad...
freak had this board at the awardfabrik ln2 party this weekend, but he couldnt get it to clock well i think. he said with the latest bios all dividers work until 400fsb, after that only 1:2 works. he tried systool but the pll of the board isnt supported yet, maybe itll work with some setfsb or clockgen option...

i think the 400fsb thing is a strap or perf level thing... how is the perf level setting on this board?
close to the max or can you always lower it by at least one level like on the p5k3?

btw, pt1t, did you try the white slots on the board?

No i havent test white slot , I received beta bios today that normaly gives beter ram overclocking.

Latest Setfsb works fine with it.

Got that for max mem , vdimm 1.9v , vNB/SB 1.55v

Removed all the original heatsink & heatpipes.

North/south birdge sticked tightly. Btw, only 40% of mosfets are sticked to heatsink. :(

Pink-colored thin thermal pads are not thick enough to cover whole mosfets.

Heatsink on mosfets arent necessary :welcome:

yeah i remember those pics, trouffman and me were the first to crash and every 15mins i woke up cause somebody was taking a pic of me with the flashlight in front of my eyes... BASTARDS! ^^
and then the 50db deltas from marco woke me up all the time hahah :D

With the latest BIOS I tested all memory dividers with Corsair PC3-1333 CL9 memory and they worked fine. Last weekend I tested the Cellshocks that Saaya brought along and They didnt even boot with rated speed and timings ;( 1:1 was the only divider that seemed to always worked up to 525 MHz FSB, which is the max FSB of my CPU on air.

I did not test much, cos I was going for a CPU-Z shot with LN2, so memory speed wasnt important. I wonder how your board behaves so differently from my board. We got it at around the same time and we use the same memory...

DDR3 @ 1043mhz 8-7-6 with vNB/SB @ 1.6v and vdimm @ 1.9v :D

but single channel , for dual channel i need more vNB/SB.

cool, thanks. i figured a 20K would work based on some probing i did the other day but didn't have a chance to test before posting the mod.

i definitely need to figure out why my sample doesn't clock worth a darn. i would love to play with this Biostar and my new Ballistix PC3-12800 kit.

did you get Fr3aks board up to speed by any chance? perhaps me and him are having the same issues?

I didn't do any mods to my board, apart from the insulation for the LN2 run which is still there :P

I wasn't able to run any high memory speed (high= 800MHz+) with he voltages available in the BIOS and different sets of Cellshock D9 memory.

I pretty much doubt, that it is a voltage issue, because I cannot even run the memory at rated timings and speed. I don't have any good DDR3 in hand right now, otherwise I would do more testing. I had a very early Corsair pc1066 9-9-9 kit which seemed to work with all dividers, but only at a low speed. I am having the feeling my Biostar has some problems with running memory at a high frequency.
