Looks like a winner to me :)

nice! if they price this in the $250-$275 area, they will have a winner.. well at least i will consider it :yepp:
i recently switched to vista, and now i have no driver for my 2 7900gto's. ill sell those off and buy 1 or 2 of these which will run nicely on my 975 chipset based mobo :D
HD 2900 GT in october for even less  (240 SP instead of 320)
Perkam
Any word on power consumption in "Pro" mode? Does it have power regulation similar to the HD2900XT? Looks like a good deal, about the same price as the more expensive 8600 GTSs here in Norway.
Wow, this is tooooo tempting! Best price/performance card out period :D
Now if only they could bring a decent way to OC crossfire
Two of these should cost at least 50€ less than a 8800gtx here, killer deal
Great news, but the power/cooling is still making me want to hold off till the 55
nm parts. I'd like to keep my cooling as silent as it is, but this is too hot for that
Very nice... probably bodes well for a new nVidia part in Nov., no, now that their parts are matched closely by a $200-250 USD one?
Is this is 80nm?
man i should buy one just to bench and replace my 7900 in old comp. limited supply?
I have a 1900 crossfire card, how much do you think this would beat it by? % wise in actual games. Dotn play with 3d mark too much anymore lol
Gonna have to wait until next gen to see about switching back to ATI.
My 7900gtx should hold me over till next year :).
Currently, LOW dx10 support and high dx10 card prices are making my 7900 look really good :)

yep, i know what im buying :)
So this begs the question, why was the 2900xt so expensive compared to this? At least a 100 dollar difference if not more. So do we see a problem here? How much we are being ripped?
So is the card physically the same? This has been done in the past, but with lower voltages and weaker caps on the card itself which limited its max potential.
Looks pretty good for the price , no wlets see what nvidia brings to the market.
I would think a better question would be how much where consumers being ripped by the $600 GTX and $800 Ultra...
These are lower binned XT cores, they placed these at the highest market they could compete in, the $250-$300 range. If the Pro could only compete with a 8600GTS I am sure it would be priced at ~$200...
G92, set to replace/undercut the 8800GTS 320mb.
We all know that the RV670 is suppose to perform pretty dang close to the HD2900XT.
This was a good move for AMD, get a card out in the price/performance market before Nvidia has a competitor, though the 320mb GTS is pretty dang close depending on the Pro price, then AMD waits for the G92 and releases the RV670 to clean up the price/performance again.
I'm just waiting to hear that this card features all the RMA 2900XTs or something like that. No matter though, sounds just like the 7900GTO which was a great card for me. Now I debate if I go with this 2900Pro and proven performance or wait for 2950Pro and 55nm. Decisions decisions.
