Thanks mate :) Just ordered the Xigmatek and TR s775 bolt-thru kit.
Yep it's the S1283. Ordered it from a finnish store that sells water/aircooling products. Cooler was 46,90€ and the mounting kit 7,90€.
Using this I get 66 dollars if I convert it from the euros. For a comparison Tuniq Tower is 48€ and TR Ultra 120 Extreme 62€ (without a fan). I would say it's a pretty good deal when looking the performance and you get a decent fan with the cooler :)
Where can I buy Xigmatek HDT-S1283 in US?
in belgium it only 33 euro's ($47).
so if you payed 46 for it you got screwed bigtime :p
i looked at this cooler but at the time i wanted it, it wasnt for sale yet.
so i just went for the TRUE
It is a great cooler seem like the HDT is the key t good performance, i got 4 of their coolers on a round-up.

I really don't like the push pin design on it =(
Yes the Thermalright s775 bolt on kit works perfectly with the Xigmatek cooler. From what I have used this cooler it has proved to be slightly worse than the Tuniq at full load. At idle the temps are lower with the Xigmatek and with low loads but when there's 100% load on both cores the temps get too high, even with the fan full speed. I have tried two different methods to put the thermal compound on the cpu and both gave me the same temps.
Xigmatek (or Xigmatek's manufacturer) already sells coolers in the U.S.,
under Kingwin's label:

FYI that's not the same cooler. S1283 uses 120mm and that Kingwin one uses 92mm fan. Now to my question: What do you guys think, would it be wise to invest in a Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000 fan to improve the performance? I don't mind the noise cos I have a fancontroller to slow down the fan at low loads.
I might give it a try. For sure the Scythe fan has a higher static pressure and blows more air so it can't be worse than the stock one. Also taking account the Xigmatek's relatively tight fin spacing the heatsink might benefit nicely from high cfm/static pressure fan.
