pretty sure server OS is fine

it's just windows XP that had the limitation in 32-bit

should be able to source a '03 OS

Yea Server 2k3 32bit does support up to 4GB so he will be fine. I love this OS. :D

Yea I also used that on my Win 2k3 version I've used for a few days but I usually don't remove that insanely many components with nLite though. :eek: But the tweaks are also handy. :)

But still after the installation with SP2 integrated, the windows folder were about 650MB only.. not bad and I've benchmarked and tried different games and apps and came to the conclusion this OS ownz! Slightly faster than XP, more secure and stable with less useless crap. Also dual core compability is perfect out of the box no MS hotfix needed anymore or amd dual core optimizer, I only installed the AMD Opteron technology driver and it runs awesome in PCSX2 (has dual core support) which is a highly CPU dependant emulator which I use whenever I need to try out my cpu/ram optimizations as depending on game and settings you use you can totally shut off GPU performance impact to 100%. :up: Of course all old PC games also runs perfectly fine without having to set affinity in this OS. I also checked here to quickly find out how to change a few annoying "features" http://www.msfn.org/win2k3/

did a bit of testing on the weekend >>> well we were benching some of our CPUs a little

i had A LOT of problems with the Gigabyte board. It needs a fair bit of work to clock DDR3 ram properly. I could not even post at stock timings and clocks......and what's worse i could not post with up to 2.1v CAS9 or 10 can't remember now at stock MHz ROFL

i'm sure they will fix that though. I spent most of the day battling a crappy dice tube and windows installs and then the board lol so i just did some quick max clocks on CPU and some 1Ms

times are bad as it would not allow me to reduce performance level below 9 and this is as fast as i could really get the RAM regardless of timings or volts but i don't bench 4.8GHz every day so it wasn't a waste afterall :D

Josh told me he had a blitz somewhere that takes DDR3 (almost at the end of the day zOMG and asus was definitely much better in RAM clocking....i was posting at around 950MHz CAS8 :shocked: :D but FARKING HELL THE CPUz 1.40.8 does not take validations with F7 shortcut :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

so nothing to post here guys

for some reason asus could not bench past 4.6GHz :mad: >> something strange there >> no luck at all ROFL.....i had two boards one that clocked RAM poorly and got half decent clocks on CPU and one that clocked RAM MUCH better but :banana::banana::banana::banana: clocks on CPU hahahahha :rofl:

blitz was superfast in 32M compared to gigabyte but i didn't have time nor CPU clocks to do some nice numbers but it looked promising >>> :D

one thing is for sure i really need a blitz or P5K3 (with volt mods) to max the RAM and i am waiting for a really nice DICE tube i ordered from Duniek so when all this comes together it will kick arse :D

DDR3 jumped into contention so early it's amazing

i think for serious benching on high FSB and extreme cooling top benchers are shooting themselves in the foot by sticking to DDR2

Sad but i told you about the board.

I could get 740MHz out of it at max, latencies dont seem to help clock more MHz.

I got a P5K3 Deluxe should be here on Thursday will let you know about DDR3 OC i have 2 pretty onteresting kits sitting here :)

we are working with Gigabyte to try and get this sorted out though

i still think to make it easy for yourself you are best of with an Asus for now though

Yep, the P5K3D looks like a DDR-3 overclocking monster atm ( doing 1M benchable DDR3-2000 8-6-6-18 @ 1T Command Rate :D ).

actually now that you mention it i was benching on blitz and accidentally noticed in CPUz that command rate was 1T ROFL...i think i was around 850 7-6-5-20 from memory and i nudged josh but after i benched 1M it really did nothing for performance :confused: so it looks as though it's a gimmick from really short initial testing

Haven't checked ( actually compared ) same clocks/timings 1T vs 2T to see if there's any difference, but I estimate something like ~50ms in SPi 1M.

i was told that F2 bioses had issues with double sided sticks and that F3j will fix that but as far as i know metro used a 2GB kit (not sure if single or double sided though)

metro did you try gigabyte with F3j which is available to download off their site

Well, assuming that Metro is using a Micron kit ( Z9 which is renamed to D9 because it's not ES anymore ), his sticks should be single sided ;)

he has a few kits and one of them is a micron based one

maybe that's what it was about

will hopefully get to find out soon and try and go for gold with better speed, latency, CPU clocks for some superpi assault :D
