Wondering if I will go wrong with a CAALG 0708TPMW stepping . Sure getting to 3+ GHz would be !!!! but any thing past 2.5 were be great.
I have seen later batchs get there. This one is coming from closer the center of the silion? I through that lower letter meant that?

I've seen that even later batch chips do 2.8 GHz quite easily.

caalg 0706aa 3600+ from newegg
biostar tforce 7050
2x1gb patriot 4-4-4-12 @ 400
Seems I can do 2.7 orthos 10 hour stable at stock voltage and cooling, but I've had to bump upward of 1.45 to get stable at 2.8.. if it doesn't get to 3.. its going back to 2.7.

Guys, have you tested some BE CPUs? I'm looking for a processor , that can reach 3.1-3.2 GHz, but in Bulgaria there aren't much 3600/3800 F3s left so I have to choose between 4000+ (CAALG or CAAUG - these are the steppings I can find) or BE 2300/2350.Which one would you recommend me and can you tell me what steppings should I look for? :D
My current mobo is Epox MF4 J3 - boots up to 310 HTT(after that it wouldn't post no matter the settings ), but I can change it - not sure whether the BEs will run ot the Epox.Biostar TF 560 AM2+ and Jetway M25GT6-SG, I think, are not bad(I'll appreciate any comment on the mobo :) ).

I have made some modifications to the cooling in my computer, which I think and hope should allow me to crack 3Ghz+ with my chip.
First of all the IHS has come off and I have a lovely naked CPU. This is now attached to a lapped TRUE 120 with a Yate Loon DSL-12 and is giving load temps under Orthos at 2.9Ghz (1.3V in BIOS, 1.325V in CPUz) of 37 degrees!
Hopefully, my motherboard has the headroom to get up to 330HTT or so with stock cooling.
