Eva if you were to add one of these to your Pros/Cons section, which one would you add? If you see any problems with large coolers please elaborate.
I've got a P5K Deluxe on order but they haven't notified me about shipment. I hope they don't know about the June 4 embargo.:DQuote:
Pros:
- There's adequate room for the Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU Cooler or similar coolers
Cons:
- There's not adequate room for the Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU Cooler or similar coolers!
Great work eva!
btw. Is the cas 4 better than cas 3 fixed?
Top notch work, as allways, eva!
I'm also going the P5K Deluxe way, but still waiting an Apogee GTX and some new teamXtreem to arrive... :(
Do you have anymore screens with your custom water cooling setup ?
No current screens but the custom Swiftech G4 Storm setup hasn't changed at all since these photos were take at http://www.fileshosts.com/watercooli...G4Storm_DFI/1/ still in the same cardboard box LOL
That was great work..Thank you
nice eva! so when do you plan to review the p5k3 :)
i know you have one!!!
i want to know if the greater bandwidth makes up for the higher latency of ddr3.
need to get some DDR3 babies first hehe
Updated above with some FSB clocking on Q6600 nice 7x485FSB http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...11#post2189311 :)
eva, what is your max FSB with dual core?
I seem to be stuck around ~530 :(
Same setup can hit 555 on P5B Dlx/commando
Nice full BIOS settings with OCs. Very good work and very useful.
Excellent job! Subscribed.:)
E6600 B1 ES has it's own ceiling at 501FSB on P5K Deluxe but i didn't play with NB or CPU PLL volt like i have for Q6600.
thanks guys :)
i haven't tried that particular version but have tried other VNCs but get's confusing when you have up to 7 pcs on kvm switches... with Aten kvm switch i just need to double tap ctrl key to cycle through all my pcs - with main pc with dual LCD monitors :)
Q6600 B3 ES @3800Mhz - 8x475FSB
Amazing indeed with Asus P5K Deluxe, I've pushed my Q6600 to a new high - being able to run single and dual Super Pi 32M @3800Mhz - 8x475FSB !

Looks like Corsair Nautilus 500 can handle it :)
Good stuff George, I went with the P5K3 first to get the DDR3 stuff done first.
Asus has done a great job delivering top notch oc capabilities from the first round of this platform and it should get better.
Top notch work which reminds me why I come here for the real motherboard reviews. Props to you.
After reading this thread. It made me hault on my motherboard purchase.
I was about to go out and buy the Commando, now Im gonna wait for more benchmarks on this board. So far very impressive.
And It would be a nice purchase to go along with the price drop $266 of the Q6600 in july ;) hehehe
nooo no black n white lol ... btw nice oc on Q6600 ... another option for ocing quad core besides P5B DLX , EVGA 680i A1, RD600 ... lol
i am hoping to get 3.6GHz 9x400 or 8x450 1.5v for Q6600
and yes the july 22 price cut ... most of us r waiting for that ....
DDR3 still sucks atm doesnt it?? thats why u didnt get the K3 version isnt it?
and yes the review is good ... with ocing .. i hate those sites who review a board without ocing .. just shows what this board is capable of
thanks for the review.
Asus is still using the same sound chip that has the cracking problem on the p965 boards.
A 5.30 Lbs package containing an Asus P5K Deluxe motherboard was shipped from California and will be delivered to my front door by UPS on Thursday the 17th. I have an E6600 L629B that needs a top of the line CPU cooler that will fit on this motherboard. Any ideas?
Yeah I am wondering as well...
If the Ultra-120 Extreme will fit
And where can I find the damn thing in stock?!
My P5K is on the UPS truck as I type. I bought three coolers to try, since I have no idea what will fit.

Sorry guys I don't like the Ultra-120 Extreme, it's toooo big for my taste.
Does anyone have any comments on the above coolers? I was leaning towards the coolermaster Hyper Tx
Awesome review Eva. This is just the kind of thing I first came here to see.
