8800gtx buzz on load

Nobody else think this is a problem. I think it's a really big issue.:mad:

unfortunately it depends on who you talk to and their definition of what a problem is. The noise is a problem from an annoyance point of view, but from a stability, working, performance point of the view the card is fine and a lot of people are willing to live with the noise as long as it isn't detrimental to the health of the card. I would be annoyed by the buzz too, but have heard of many others with the same issue so it is starting to sound like something to expect from these cards unless you are very lucky.

BTW how you liking the TJ-09?

But doesn't that taint the image of how quiet it is vs the ATI's products?

ATI's products aren't so heavenly either, my old x1900xtx used to make a really loud noise back when I played Starcraft (RIP its peaceful silicon). My replacement doesn't make the noise often but I have seen it on occasion.

never had it from any ati card, only on my friends 8800gtx. all that money for a card that might not perform in dx10 and buzzes....

From all the people here being appalled at the fact that it makes this whining noise I take it you've never played "listen to your comp and guess which 3D mark test is running"!! Had so much fun doing this at the last lan.....If someone walked in they would think my friend and I were insane..it was like "whhhhhhhhhiiiiiiii-ddddddd.....Return to proxygon!" hahaha.
Just fyi ati cards aren't any better....clock my 1900 up and give it some voltage and it's easily heard all over the house (1700sq. ft.)

My card doesn't do it.

Um, I have x1900xtx and never had any unusual noise problems with it and, I kept it water cooled. I also know a few people who had/have the x1900xtx and never reported that sort of problem (just asked after reading your post).

My friend's doesn't either, my first one did but my second one doesn't as much

No idea what causes it
