Hmm. I cant get the comp to start if im not putting the SPD enabled...
and if i get 480fsb and 1200mhz mem, it doesnt work, but if i have 400 and 1200 it boots right away....
so i cant get it to cas 4 , couse it freakn wont boot if i alter the settings...not even if i have it original .... gaaah
How much Vdimm is "secure" with this ballistix? i have an active fan at the NB DIMM etc..
-
Dont use 4/5 divider when testing RAM on a 965 board. Try 1/1 or 2/3.
-
hmm why not? well i cant use any devider except this 400 and 1200mhz
i had to get all the way to 2.6v to get it stable at cas 4 ..all the way.
And i dont want to have that 24/7 :)
but i want to get higher clocks, and i MUST have either 475fsb or 424
not one of them then works to get the mem to fit in there ...
it just wont work, tried in 100 times.
sooo i havfe to stay at 3.6 to be happy with 1200mhz?
i see all these people with 600 that and 400 that ...I CANT DO THAT
int wont boot nomather what ...
-
Because 4/5 is a lot more stressful then the other dividers. Many boards/cpu's do 480fsb without a problem however not with mem at 600mhz. If you test your ram for max dont use 4/5.
-
Well, the thing is that i tried 475 with 1230 something...dont remember :)
and then lowered it a div...it wont work...i will try some when i get home...
its kinda stupid :) either high cpu clock or high mem clock, cant have both :P
-
Hmm going much better today
these really are impressive Sticks :)
i do have another batch then the man who started the thread
i see he has .11 i have .LV
i could get about 650, 2.6v well i dont like putting that Vdimm into them , just bought them :)
and 4-4-4-4 ,2.6v 1200mhz , they like the juice hehe..but i will kill them that way, now iam at 2.25, is that okay 24/7? active fan on them. and they are COLD , not even little warm hehe..
-
Very good cas3 :)
Crucial Rox :D
-
-
Great job on both.
Now get off that damn 1333 strap for the cas 3. :slapass: :p:
-
Working on that but so far max is only 485mhz with cas4.
-
TBH, I have a lot of trouble with it too, even on 1333. I can make it to 500 in a real pinch on 1066, but 32M dumps instantly. 510 is the limit for 1M. 1333 seems around 15MHz better. My gut tells me that the Commando is a bit weaker in FSB in general than the P5B, despite its other strengths. Try FSB term at 1.3v, no more no less. Works best for me.
-
This is what my made @ Cas 3 2.42v real 2.46-49v it varies. think this is awsome hehe.. 4.1ghz too :)
will update with maxclock on the mems, and cas 4 settings. all i know they will do cas 4 1200mhz 2.6v but will put in a pic with things later.

:slobber:
makes me wanna grab those Tracers @ newegg even if i don't have a ddr2 mobo/cpu...
:D keep up the good work, push those babies even further!

I got some of these sticks yesterday and they OC well. Can get more for a very good price..... is it even possible to OC with 4 sticks? If so what kind of OC could I expect?
-
man i think i'm gonna get myself a pair of these...
My G.Skill 6400HZ top out at 565
Not to mention how these 8500's are now even cheaper than my g.skill
-
what would people recommend as a 24/7 voltage on these please ?
I'm running 2.25V on my P5-B Deluxe @ about 1030 MHz 4-4-4-10 - is this the max recommended for daily use ?
I'm just worried about the reports of early failures - or does the VDimm in reality not make that much difference unless you go to say 2.4 + ?
thanks, Mark.

Me :
2.15V real
472 Mhz 1:1
4 4 4 10 4

I just got the same memory; when I replace my power supply (it can't handle one hard drive and two sticks of 2.2V memory) I'll see how far these go.
Any way to tell whether they are GMH or GKX without removing the heatspreader? I'd prefer to keep my warranty...
-
they are all GMH aren't they ?
-
loc.o seems i got same batch as yours but maybe my motherboards aren't that great heh

Crazy memory to be able to hit 634Mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.3v vdimm for dual Super Pi 32M!

Put the same pair i tested on Asus P5K Deluxe into my Asus P5B Deluxe (without Maximizer) to see how they do and so far highest mem clock frequency on P5B Deluxe ever for me @620Mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.35v dual Super Pi 32M!

insane memory..
:woot:
-
Yeah unfortunately it seems 600mhz 4-4-4-x is still alluding me even with Crucial Ballistix 8500 can't hit that 600mhz CAS4 on Asus P5B Deluxe with 2.45v max nor can i with Asus P5K Deluxe with 2.55v max.. 5-5-5-15 flies though on both boards.
Guess more testing needed or just could be the motherboards... I have Asus Commando so shall see.
-
Hope theyll do wel on the commando. Seems not all do the same timings, ive seen some more that prefer 5-5-5. Could it be the diff between GKX and GMH perhaps?
-
yeah nearly all the recent Micron D9 i've been getting likes 5-5-5/5-5-4 timings better and have lower 4-4-4-x oc'ing headroom.
Guess that's another reason why 5-5-5-x memory is so cheap these days if Micron are binning them for 5-5-5-x it would be alot easier for memory manufacturers like corsair/ocz/team/gksill to hand test them.. just shove them in and they hit high 5-5-5-x heh.
