The review was alright, but ehh. I'm surprised they didn't touch on "FSB Select". I'm guessing that's the strap? I wonder if 333 is an option in there, and if that would have helped any.
Eitherway, somethings still up with that at 530fsb. I feel like if it is indeed on 1066 strap, certain internal latencies are still fiddled with to loosen up extremely so. I haven't tried everest's latency check myself so I'm not able to conclude a thing at all, but when I'm at 400fsb on my p5b in 1066 strap, I can beat up that latency with mbench any day, assuming decent timings and possibly 4:5 or better.
At 500fsb, I'm seeing latencies at around 60 or so, which shows that if I were to be able to get up to 530fsb, I'd probably be at the same place as that latency in the review.
Oh well, gotta wait for more of us to own the board to see for sure what this beast is about.
I will say though that I love how it actually measures all those voltages' real values.

Does p965 have 1333 strap or only 1066?
i think it has both...it has been seen running an x6850 333fsb cpu no problem...plus i pestered the engineers till they showed me a bios shot with native booting on 333fsb with a 333cpu ;)
i think however that the strap remains user selectable from the bios unlike many others

Looks good, but only 4 SATA ports kinda sucks, although not enough to make or break my buying decision if I were in the market.

I think he meant 4 from the southbridge and the other 2 are from the JMicron controller, which I haven't heard much good about...
The board has 6 SATA ports and 1 IDE channel (2 devices) based on Jmicron chipset :)

ICH8R supports 6, I doubt it'd be 2 from Jmicron...if even that chips on the board...more info needed!
How do you guys think this board would do compared to the MSI 975X Platinum motherboard in overclocking and general performance with the system I have in my signature? I'm in the market for a new board, and this fits in my sweet spot for budget. :-D
