I dont care what his name is, how is the product? is this finally a good Matx board with some overclocking features? I would like that.
rip off the floppy connector (almost useless) and add a dvi port and i'll take it.
Quit the damn whining about the floppy location. Most people that use this board most likely wont even use a floppy drive with it. I know i wouldnt and what do you need dvi for when you've got hdmi.
This is not an atx board, the layout doesnt need to be perfect.
Show me one with EAX4 or even a home theater one without EAX at all and I'll come running!:DQuote:

When creative gets off their ass :slapass: and releases a 1X X-fi I'll pick one up the next day... I have an x-fi but it has taken me almost a year of owning it to iron out the snap crackle pops.

beyond the fact that its fatality which is stupid, it looks like a nice board for anyone interested in a HTPC. Although it would be nice if they would add a DVI port so you can have DVI and HDMI out. (yes i know you can convert HDMI to DVI)

Would it kill someone to utilise the space on the i/o panel?
There is room for about 4 more usb ports, dvi and even a firewire, also, why are you moaning about floppy ports anyway?. Bios updates are done through windows or a flash drive, last time i used a floppy drive was back in 2003 when i loaded intel raid drivers.
Funny how something so slow, old and unreliable continues to live to this day.

I personally dont see the purpose of a matx board as a main system but thats your perogative. The one thing you have to understand though is the board was designed to be an htpc so they made it to accomadate hdtvs that are on sale right now.Quote:

They're going hdmi primarily because you only need 1 connector for video and audio. The board just isnt geared towards the consumer whos looking for a basic desktop board. Its for those that want to hook it up to a television.
I also wouldnt be suprised if the board couldnt oc at all. But once again i dont think thats the purpose its meant to serve.

The position of the FDD connector is in fact just fine, you're supposed to route the FDD cable under the motherboard and make it come out from under the ATX 24pin connector. What i would complain in the layout is maybe the position of the +12V 4pin connector, that should've been in the upper corner, near the VGA connector.
The board has high-quality capacitors and good overclocking options, it couldn't be a MAX because it lacks alot of options that couldn't fit on that size of the PCB, but it's superior to a regular mATX board ... so i guess abit chose to make it a Fatal1ty.
But if he games for most of the day, when does he have time to enjoy his HTPC?;)
LOL, Michael Jordan is a household name. I would put money on the fact that I could walk into any street in any major city and ask "who is jonathan wendel" and 9 out of 10 people would have no clue. I could walk into Fry's and still 9 out of 10 people would have no clue. Looks like the first decent overclocking conroe MATX motherboard will have Ati/AMD chipsets.
