wont let me run clock gen and cpuz at the same time
just in time for my new conroe build coming this weekend.
It's telling me my Xeon 3060 is running at 2.4GHz. It got the FSB right (400), but it's reporting a 6x multiplier, when in reality it's 9x. CPU-Z 1.38 reports it fine. What's the deal?
same here tried it with EVGA 680i Gigabyte ...Quote:

Same problem here with EIST and C1E disabled on P5B Deluxe, CPU at 429x7.Quote:

well it looks like it does not work on every cpu

1.39 is causing errors when clockgen is running...
Either clockgen or cpu-z - both at the same time will not work for me. This sucks, no way for suicide validations...
Or is it me?
No problem here yesterday: clocked Celeron 351 on Asus P5B Deluxe, got the same highest validation with Clockgen & CPU-Z 1.39 as with Clockgen & CPU-Z 1.38
Edit: the problem actually exists: Clockgen and then CPU-Z works, first CPU-Z and then Clockgen - not.
I'd suggest you guys (w/ problems) to re-download since Franck tends to make some updates after the initial release.
The latest build should be dated 15.2.2007 16:24.
It's a different file!, the original was 955KB while the new one is 959KB.
It does not work. Downloaded a fresh clockgen and CPU-Z... same error.
Why cant I validate with this version? When I click submit after uploading my file, it says something like "file doesnt exist" or something close??????
Wow, after i wasnt able to run Clockgen and CPU-Z i didnt even try to validate.
1.39 seems to be a very good version Oo.
Next week LN2, can somebody tell me how to validate the scores? What a mess...

sorry to bring up a thread that hasn't been replied to in 3 days....
but 1.39 shows my cpu speed at 2219 while TAT and 1.38 shows 3.7
yes EIST and c1e are disabled...
is this a bug?
Well taht doesn't make sense. Got any other program to read CPU speeds?Quote:

I am sorry, but C1E has to still be enabled here. look at the voltage it is 1.188. that is what c1e does, it lowers the voltage and multi when idle. as soon as you hit start in tat, the voltage/multi will rise and then cpuz will adjust for it.
it's a bug with cpu-z not to read the voltage correctly...Quote:

Opening CPUZ and CLOCKGEN in the same moment is not a good idea.
If CPUZ for example is gathering info from MEM/SMBUS etc and then you also start CLOCKGEN this will often result in a lockup. I find if I allow CPUZ to fully open first, before starting CLOCKGEN then CLOCKGEN opens no problem.

Something like this :
thanks :)Code:MSR 0x0000001B edx = 0x00000000 eax = 0xFEE00900
MSR 0x000001A0 edx = 0x00000040 eax = 0x60972489

MSR 0x000000CD edx = 0x00000000 eax = 0x00000800
MSR 0x000000E8 edx = 0x00000080 eax = 0x1B8CDABE
MSR 0x00000198 edx = 0x0A280A28 eax = 0x0600061B
MSR 0x00000199 edx = 0x00000000 eax = 0x0000061B
well it turns out that the badaxe 2 has this bug where it doesn't like to turn off EIST even though its disabled in the bios!
so i'm pretty sure that cpu-z is right... and my 1000000000% is wrong hehehe.
01B = 0x00000000 0xFEE00900
1A0 = 0x00000060 0x62840489
... from what I understand, the 0x628... the 2 means EIST is enabled... setting it to 1 disables it
Yes you're right, but the "2" refers to C1E in this case (bit 25 from 1A0)
EIST seems disabled however (bit 16 from 1A0)
Franck
Compared to v1.37, which was the last one I downloaded, this one doesn't cause my music to "lock up" for a few seconds, before the program opens... It also opens a lot quicker, and it actually displays command-rate for my RAM :)
Voltage for CPU is also displayed correctly... Excellent release :woot:
Best Regards :toast:
