Nice board, if i was upgrading right now, its probably the board id look at going with:)

Still playing around with it and figuring stuff out....this is what I got so far.
Max FSB..with mem LINKED

And this is Team Extreem 1000mhz 5-5-5-12 stuff, with 2.4 vdimm....subtimigns not tweaked...will be back with more.

where can you buy these?
quite nice mobo, been playing and got somewhat stable 510 FSB
cpuz validation

Got som info about the chipset on this mobo...makes thing even more confusing..!!!!
A friend started a thread over at Vr-Zone forums with som pics of the board..later on I joined in, Shamino mentioned an interesting thing about the C55 chip being the sam as used on 680i. AFIK Shamino has been around since forever and has used a ton of Asus mobos and taken down loads of WR with them...so he for one should know what he is talking about.

Sure, if you look at the text on the NB it says C55 and itīs used on 680i as Shamino mentioned but not C55XE as on the 680i chip, more in line with other 650i chip C55-SLIX8N-A2. If we then take a look at the chipset drivers, the AsusTech recommended me using the 680i drivers..I mean sure, history has shown several times that some of the mobo techs from some vendors doesnīt always have their facts straight. But if we look further on Asus download page the chipset driver verision they provide has the same verisionstring as the one on nvidia site aimed towards 680i chipset. So if it is a 650i chip then the AsusTech might as well pointed me towards the 650i drivers as there are specific drivers for 650i chip.
So why the hell is Cpu-Z saying 650 when driver points towards 680i??
Now if take a look at the SB chip it says itīs a 590-SLI...so it provides at least one 16x PCI-E lane wich would ofcourse make sence if the NB is the same as on 650i, giving the mobo full 2*16x PCI-E support and might also remove some of the bugs the initial P5N32 boards had.
Now this is all just my thoughts and speculations...I have nothing to back anything up except pics and post from others and ofcourse the mail from the AsusTech. If anyone else has any thoughts and ideas then plzz share.
so does the p5n32-e sli plus automatically increase the 8800 core and memory voltages like other 680i boards?
It does 500FSB easily and got dual16x PCI-E :-)?Quote:

Maybe CPU-Z needs an update or maybe not!
It's also possible that the Asus individual you contacted hasn't got a clue and is blowing smoke!
Yeah m8...youīre absolutly right, the AsusTech could be smoking mushrooms or something and it could be that cpu-z needs an update...Iīm not saying either way.Quote:

And in anycase I donīt mind..because Iīm very happy with this board in most aspects...and Iīm fairly confident future bios updates will iron out the last remaining bugs. However
I do want to know what it is I have put my money in....what did I pay for.
Just take off your heatpipe cooler and look at the chip. It's written NF680I-SLI-N-A2 on P5N32-E, and SB is NF590 (don't know what version). Read what is written on P5N32-E PLUS and you will know.
It has already been done..several times...both NB and SB....but it still doesnīt give clear answer.
Yeah, after examining some nVidia drivers I am even more confused.
README.TXT for 650i drivers:
And here is README.TXT for 680i drivers:Quote:
This Win2K/XP nForce (C51/MCP51) driver package consists of the following components:
Ethernet Driver MCP51 (v50.23) "WHQL"
Network Management Tools MCP51 (v50.23)
SMBus Driver (v4.52) "WHQL"
Installer (v4.93)
Win2K IDE SataRAID Driver (v6.66) "WHQL"
Win2K IDE SataIDE Driver (v6.66) "WHQL"

WinXP IDE SataRAID Driver (v6.66) "WHQL"
WinXP IDE SataIDE Driver (v6.66) "WHQL"
WinXP RAIDTOOL Application (v6.63)
650i drivers clearly state "C51" and "MCP51" where 680i drivers have "C55" and "MCP55"Quote:

So I guess that ASUS engineer who pointed you 680i drivers was right.
It comes to my mind that 650i might be just stripped down (maybe of some bug-causing elements) version of 680i core, just like C2D 6400 is a stripped down version of Conroe core - that would justify them using same drivers.
And what is "C51" then? Have you guys ever seen one? maybe that's 650i non-SLI version?
[EDIT]
lol I accidentaly double posted. Mods please delete this
[/EDIT]
Yes it does m8..exactly as 680i would do.Quote:

nice board by the looks of it, 500fsb and dual x16 pci-e slots. nice.
have you tried installing 650i drivers? On my P5N32-E non-plus 650i drivers reused to install, instllator crashed without any error message. I guess P5N32-E PLUS chipset is really a 680i, though somewhat crippled. Then I'm looking forward to C51 and MCP51 - what are they? maybe someone has P5N-E and could look under his heatpipes, provide some CPU_Z screenshots etc.
No m8 I havenīt...Quote:

According to the drivers investigated above by xoqolatl, C55 uses 680i drivers..wich I can veryfie my self, using the latest 680i drivers from nvidia site.Itīs said by experienced users that C55 is somewhat the same as 680i.
Further more the SB is 590-SLI it clearly says so...Iīve looked under the heatsink my self, and not the 570 they state on there site.
Someone on Asus really is smoking mushrooms or something...!!!
Why the hell they wrote it's 650i? Imagine some non-pr0 who bought the board and wants to dl new drivers form nVidia but he doesn't know what chipset he has; he looks up at ASUS site and sees 650i, tries to dl and install 650i driers from nVidia and boom! he broke his OS.Quote:

That's serious, they provide false information that may lead to grave problems.

What is the differences between this board and the P5NT WS?
i'm gonna get one , so anyone else have this mobo can share some experience ? :toast:

I can get 400*8 fsb out of it , with NB1.450V (stock cooler, and NB and SB getting real real hot), V-core 1.530 (E6600, wich on other mobo gets easy 3400)Quote:

Somebody got some good usable info about overklocking this board P5N32E-SLI PLUS like used voltages, used cooling, etc...)?
I'm getting a bit confused about all that info...., dunno exactly whats under the hood :(
Asus, we all hope you gonna give us the correct info plz
I mounted some aditional 40 mm fan on nb, and it looks to help.(Temp dropped from 60 to 45°C!), and now it boot @ 400*8. Before the extra nb fan, no boot with 7*390!
So i think nb temp is also the limiting factor with oc this board.
I dont get this ? Sorry but i've never played with C2D before. What is that problem and does it hurt the Vid ?Quote:
