I saw the same thing here in Holland. A web-shop had a x2 4000+ with 2c512kb cache and 2.1GHz clockspeed. I ordered 1 last week when it had a 14 days delivery time on it. So i hope i'll get it sometime this week. I'll inform you guys when i get it! :)

I personally don't think these early 65nm's are producing worthy enough gains. I havent really seen any tests with water or better, but air to a max of 3050 is what I have seen. That was with fairly mild voltages though so I guess lets get someone to spring for one and check out the results.

Has anyone tested one of these out in comparison to the Core 2 Duo? I was reading anandtech's article about these and according to what i read these things are crap compared to core 2 duo still, but the model seems to be different on new egg compared to what anandtech listed, they are listing it as Athlon 64 X2 3600+ and i believe anandtech said they were gona be sold as the 4600+ 4800+ and 5000+, also is the L1 cache different from what anandtech reviewed? New egg shows L1 Cache 128KB+128KB and heres anandtech's cpuz report

new egg is sellin these cores for 115 bucks so id really like to see if they perform comparable to a core 2 duo or if it is just worth it to wait till q2 for the E4300 to come down to around 130 bucks.
same thing sold at a different speed. it's still K8 regardless, so performance difference from what any other X2 would do at the same speed is minimal at most ;)
but compared to the c2duo, how is it, is it worth the 115 or wait for the E4300 or E6300 to come down in price a little more.Quote:

There is one of the first OC results for the x2 3600+ 65nm.
They did 1,9@3,1GHz on stock cooling.

Is there a need to update BIOS on AM2 boards in order to run these things. $115 seems to be a very tempting deal.
