That makes 4.32 CHF per litre... and buy it from a company is approx 2.50 CHF per litre.. so it's expensive and it takes a lot of time to get 100 litres (nearly impossible)...

I just got off the phone with Elan and they will try to get us a product sample in a few months, they are behind schedule and do not have anything off the shelf to suit our needs, we would need the larger system and it runs around $11,000
6L every two hours I believe is what they stated.

I'd like to get the specs for the cooling unit in there that will go -170°
1, compress room air
2, seperate nitrogen from room air
3, liquefy nitrogen
4, transfer ln2 to container
Air is extracted from the room through a particle filter and is then compressed to a moderate pressure of 6 to 8 atmospheres. It is then dried and cleaned in a pressure swing absorber dryer.
The compressed air is fed to a membrane nitrogen seperation module.
There is a tech doc they sent me on how it all works, this pdf might be vailable online from them. It doesnt go into the CFC-free refrigeration technology in the liquefy portion of the doc.

MMR has a similar agreement with EDAX, another division of Ametek, for the manufacture of X-Coolers for the cooling of Si(Li) detectors. These detectors are a different type of X-ray detector used in scanning electron microscopes that previously had also been cooled with liquid nitrogen. MMR has licensed a related cooling technology for the cooling of computer chips for workstations, computers, and chip testing to KryoTech, Inc., a spin-off from the NCR division of AT&T. Kryotech now manufactures handlers for chip testing for some of the major chip manufacturers using this technology.
In a joint development with FemRx, MMR developed a cryosurgical device, using similar cooling technology, for the treatment of endometrial bleeding in women. FDA, 510(k) approval was obtained for the device for general surgery, dermatology, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery and other areas of medicine. FemRx was later acquired by Ethicon, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Company. MMR has obtained a far reaching patent on the device.
In 2003 MMR exhibited an office liquid nitrogen generator at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatologists in San Francisco. This stand-alone liquefier, designated the "ELAN-2" is now in production. The unit, about the size of an office water chiller, produces 6 liters/day of liquid nitrogen from the air. The idea is: you spend some big $ in the generator and the panels and OC until you die :D. You could even sell LN2 ( if legal) in times in which you don´t use it. The production would be of 72 liters a day

what happens if it overflows and fills your bedroom with ln2. ?
11 grand is still a bit much. under 2 grand is more like it.
I was reading a article of a new very large turbine expander a few months ago for a major producer, forgot where but just the turbine was a couple million ,it was supported on magnetic bearing on all axis's very high rpm.real cool stuff.
