No Email notification

Go to your User CP.
At the left, you'll see "Edit Options". Under "Messaging & Notification", you'll see a line "Default Thread Subscription Mode".
Make sure that "Instant Email Notification" is choosen, then click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen.

yet, i still do not get any emails.

There could be a few reasons:
- your e-mail address may be not up to date
- your e-mail service provider may have filtered charles@pictographics.net
- your current e-mail address may be on banned lists
- e-mail notifications could be deleted by your spam control
- it does not like you :p:
Put a different e-mail address (try using a different e-mail service) and see. It is not XtremeSystems' fault because I do get e-mail notifications all the time.

- my email is up to date.
- my email is not filtering charles@pictographics.net as I have checked the filters.
- hmm... can you check that for me.. my email is johnshim at johnshim dot com . dunno why it'd be on a banned list as its my personal domain.
- this might be the best explanation.

well im not getting them again .... :( and all my settings are the same as when i do get them and my email settings also ..... this has worked fine for me since i joined and it started screwing little before i posted this thread.....oh when i think about it this time i think it stoped a day or two ago when there was that server down time

sweet oogly moogly... i changed it to gmail and it works now.

the thing is, i've been using johnshim at johnshim dot com forever and had no problems until that recent "45 minute" down time.

just wanted to jump on the band wagon.

my account is no longer properly sending email updates either; just started yesterday. i use xtremesystems daily and have for some months now and it's always performed flawlessly.

also, i tried a new test account with a different email and it didn't work either.

i stoped receiving email notifications

even PMS....

i dont use a free email account
everything looks normal in usercp....as usual.....i didnt change anything :confused:

SB, I just sent you an email from my gmail account to verify your getting emails and the addy is correct... Also, check your spam folders to make sure that the xs emails are not going there instead of your inbox... I have checked your account and your pm's and instant subscriptions are on so you should be ok but check that email addy.

@s1rrah I am going to suggest the same thing for you as DB.. I see your using gmail for your email so check your spam folder cuz I know for myself I had them going there sometimes and didnt even realize it...

I have also sent the 2 of you test pm's to see if you get them so please reply and let me know.

@Millyons almost forgot ya:) same goes for you as well... Please confirm..

Thanks guys and sorry for the issues I am sure I'll get them worked out...

LOL triple post...

Please everyone check your spam folders cuz I think this is the biggest problem.. With the server and upgrade your email clients might get confused thinking its a new email server and is thinking its spam... I have had this happen myself... So please check and report back.. Thanks!

got the pm and got the email notification for it on gmail, and have been getting emails to gmail no prob from here....tried changing back to hotmail and its no go i dont even get the email change verification mail checked the spam and there is nothing there ...... so to sum it up it works 100% on gmail and not at all on hotmail for me, not even in the spam

i fixed my problem, FYI.

turns out it simply was that xtremesystems was having personal problems with my domains email server at 3essentials.com; i signed up for a gmail account and changed my email prefs in user cp and things work just fine.

not a problem since gmail has pop/smtp access and i can run both my personal mail account and my gmail account through outlook.
