Interesting how you did the comparison.
RD600 - Slack timings, high FSB
975 - Tight timings low FSB
965 - Tight timings high FSB
The reason 965 can keep up is because of the increased FSB/timing ratio vs the 975 and the 975 wins out in 01 because of timings.. (obviously 01 is way more hardware dependant). Better timings = better 01 score any day. Ask hipro ;) . Not to mention the 4MHz increase in cpu speed.
Anyways, thanks for sharing :) . I think RD600 will be my conroe board.
I don't get what's so great about RD600 in a non-Crossfire environment. I'd go Asus Commando if I had an E43/63/6400, Crossfire and didn't care about getting a few more points in 3dmark in CF. Or for subzero, 965 wins. 975X is still the overall winner, I think, what with higher and higher FSBs being possible with 975X.Quote:

I would like to see a comparison of RD600 running at tight timings and 1T command rate versus an i975X board running tight timings and 2T (its max). Bandwidth limited tests like 01 or 05 would be great. Keep the FSB the subtimings the same. Thanks.

AS to 4Mhz, RD600 and 975 use FSB 428 on BIOS. I don't reduce RD600 CPU FSB on BIOS.

Would like to see 600mhz 4-4-4 compared to 428 3-3-3 on same board. I bet the first one is faster in 2001, memspeed does make a difference.
depends what you can run 24/7 voltage wise how much time it takes to get 600mhz stable, and the actual points difference.
100-200 points is too anal for me, unless I was aiming to crack records (assuming I was able to get close in the first place), if we were talking a 1000 or so points then I'm with you...

Andre, can you limit PCI-E lanes available to the video card on the boards?
Might be interesting to see 1x vs. 2x vs 4x vs 8x vs 16x or something similar. Single pref but x-fire nice as well... :D

Can you run the 965 board with the 1333FSB strap (boot at 400mhz or lower and clockgen up)? I think the difference bewteen the 975 and 965 would be much smaller then. The 4X PCIe setting shouldn't matter as much as it seems from the tests.

Great stuff, but hoe did you get the X1950 Pro's to work in Crossfire on the 965 when they the 965 chipset does'nt support them in crossfire:confused: Atleast not on the P5B Deluxe (Even with software crossfire).
I read it was because the 965 chipset does'nt have support or internal writes and later I got that confirmed by Asus.
I was just wondering, I own 2 X1950 Pro and can't use them in crossfire with my P5B DLX :slapass:
