This board is actually looking like its shaping up to sway me back to Abit, I'm so unhappy with their current products and lack of worthwhile BIOS updates. But, this boards looks like it has some killer features.
We need to see some max stable FSB settings from this puppy. It's actually looking like it might beat out the ICFX3200... :slobber:
would love to se some benches at 9 x 4xx :)
I dont suppose you have a E6600 retail chip to benchmark? would love to see how it fairs with a more common chip.
If I'm being honest upto now their isnt anything more impressive than any other decent board, I'll most likely take my chance with this board anyway, I've been waiting a few months for this.

Will switch to Kentsfield while waiting for a newer BIOS and better cooling.

IN9 seems to have the same issues that other NF680i board have with Kentsfield.

crotale, are you seeing the kind of relatively high NB temps on this board reported on the other 680i boards?
I expect temps are in-line with the nVidia reference board, comparing them both passive. But with a fan on the reference board temps are still kinda high. Hopefully a 50mm fan on the IN9 copper heatsink will yield better temperatures.Quote:

Caught up in an exam period, so tests are going slow unfortunately.
Waiting on a new BIOS with higher multipliers for cascade runs.
Until then, I'll see how the board runs with the stock cooling and stock available voltages. After that, it's all out :)

i dont think the sb needs much cooling - shouldn't have to raise sb voltage?; nb is the main concern with oc / high voltage / heat...
i still dont see the point in connecting all the sinks together with hpipes...wont that just spread the heat from the hottest component and make the cooler components hotter???? - i'm assuming the hsink over the nb will be the hottest - or does all heat travel to the hottest component? :confused: in either case the nb and nb sink will be very hot.
Personally i think all the sinks should be separate with no hpipes -> aftermarket
I would like to know if there are any aftermarket sinks for the PWM
i also read that warranty on boards would require original mobo sinks be intact - which would mean removing the original mobo sinks and keeping them intact if you ever needed to replace the board under warranty.
the thermalright hr-05-sli i believe would fit on the nb in between the first pcie slot and oriented away from the cpu sink - dont know whether this wood be better than stock as the stock is copper - but the hr-05-sli has significantly more surface area and is made to take a 70 or 80mm fan. http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...ct_hr05sli.htm 62.5mm wide tr-nb sink should leave approx 10mm clearance off pci-e no.1 slot

anyway; i wont be trying any a/m mobo sinks until i have the board in my hands and give it a go.
this is just me, but I hate the heatpipe chipset coolers, gimme a fan :D
