:slobber: almost AM3 WR with single aircooled GPU
Daaaaamn ... 5.4GHz CPU is just awesome
Got pics of the rig?
Wow, if that cpu can do 5420 through mark '05 it has got to do close to 5500 through '01! :slobber:
This was exactly the cpu power KP was lacking for 100K
C'mon mister, put on your Nike shoes and JUST DO IT!!! :D
Yes Gorillakos will bring me a QX6700 too....;) :DQuote:

Awesome work Hipro ! :slobber:
Nice that is the highest benchable speed we have ever seen in 05 and AM3
keep pushing hope you can run at those speeds on the 680i
keep in mind that his abit card could be a better overclocker then asus striker extreme...Quote:

Good luck with the Striker George, hope you ll figuer it out fast.
kick arse george :toast:
 wow.
Good 8800's start Hipro :toast:
5420 3d benchable....one single word....IMPRESSIVE!
Happy new year :)
Leghorn
good luck for 100k :woot:
Well if the Striker will clock bad, he'll make it clock good! :DQuote:

First off: HAPPY NEW YEAR.....:D :toast:
Now:
The CPU is week 31.
Yes I have learned the ASUS Striker pretty easy I could say.:D
NO I don't have "fsb holes" as many have claimed...With bios 404 AND bios 505, I get the same....Perhaps my "moded" Corsair 8000UL ram modules helps for this.....I have flashed them and they have their own and unique EPP on their SPD chip right now......:D
The board in general performs quite well but it can't "catch up" the 975 chipset easy....
1:1 is the best here as for me.....Async ram has too much latencies.....Also playing with dividers as for ram, it has more latencies than 1:1...;)
Some test I've done are below.....
P.S. I have to admit that the GeForce 8800GTX is VERY powerful card....:)
WinRAR bench at 3200MHz and rams at 400MHz and 1:1 on the ABIT AW9D-MAX mobo....

The EXACT SAME on the ASUS Striker 680 chipset mobo....

WinRAR with 458MHz rams on Striker....
http://www.thelab.gr/images/Hipro5/A...458MHz_1_1.png
Super-Pi 1M on ABIT AW9D-MAX with 400MHz fsb and 1:1 Rams...

Super-Pi 1M on ASUS Striker and 680 chipset with 400MHz fsb and 1:1 Rams...

Super-Pi 1M on ASUS Striker and 680 chipset with 458MHz fsb and 1:1 Rams...
As we can see here, we need 58MHz more on rams to "much" with the 975 chipset.... ;)

Super-Pi 1M on ASUS Striker and 680 chipset with 493.5MHz fsb and 1:1 Rams...My rams can do at least 495MHz 3D Benchable at Cas 4-3-2-1 on this mobo:)

Observations:
Yes this mobo performs quite well BUT we NEED HIGH fsb and ram frequncy for it....:)
.
Tried 1T command rate?
Nice work with lots of effort Hipro (you got a big archive for benches)
How well that the Striker perform when it come to CPU overclocking (5.4GHZ is possible?)
Hipro5
Over at OCX hicookie explained that booting at 425FSB or more you will get slower results then booting under 425, i.e 424 gives more performance due to a different strap. So 424 with a higher multi would be faster then higher fsb I believe if I understood him correctly.
No go with Cas 3-2-2-1 or Cas 4-3-2-1.....It works with Cas 4-3-3-6.....:(Quote:

It's on a P5N32-E SLi though.
If you're registered at OCX you can view his findings in the Motherboard part of the forums.
