I need a v-core mod- ASUS P5N32-E SLI

in this post http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=126027I have modified the vcore of the striker the voltage regulator is indentical adp3189
with striker enough a trimmer 100/50k regulated to 21k… as the resistance on the striker to pin the 4 is here 822ohm with 21k you have 790ohm

with mod now you setting in the bios 1,9volt yuo have 1,91v

the vdroop is not neccesary is on 0,01-0,02v fully load with conroe 6800 :D

OK, now for the mod, I'd try a 1 MOhm (in words, one Mega Ohm = 1000 K Ohm) trimmer potentiometer connected between pin#16 and pin#17. With the trimmer set to maximum resistance you change the original value by about 6-7%, which should be OK. So, start with maximum resistance and then tune it down in order to lower the droop voltage. Hope it works.

Ok got it done finally

It seems to work so far.

I did the mod with the cpu on air with bios vcore set to 1.2v vcore

With the opp vcore mod, even with vr at full resistance. vcore in probe read 1.25

I started a single run of dual orthos and it drooped to 1.23

Tweaked the vdroop vr and its back up to 1.25.

So it seems to be working

I am installing am areca raid controller and the os at the moment

So far so good on the P5N32-E SLI

No..I set it up and tested and until I take it back out (which may be soon)...no pics

BUT..it's really easy
the pin numbers in question go straight out to some soldering pads, so no need to solder either to the pins or to any resistors (as in other cases)

Just a quick little dab onto the pads and you're good to go

the pads are right there near the pins.

Hey OPP is this board worth playing with or what? ;)

is it worth it to you to spend 300 bucks and then instantly void the warranty cuz asus couldnt spend 5 cents on the proper voltage regulation?

ask yourself that.
spend 300 and once again mod one of asus's totally fvcking brainless blunders.

or spend 150 on something else and not have to mod a thing.
or 200 on a P5B Dlx.


has anyone verified if the P5N E SLI works with this mod ?
peformance and clocking seems damn good but it has the worst vdroop i've seen since the P4C800 boards.

P5B + SLI, no thanks ;)
