Err, the K8N-DL is a socket 940 board. I thought we are talking Socket 1207 here?Quote:

Is it mprime stable?
So what do you use the second PSU for?
PSU 1 and PSU 2 operate at the same time. When I hit the power button, both come on. Same thing when I turn it off or let the OS do the shutdowm
PSU 1 is used for:
Motherboard and cpus (8 pin, 4 pin, and 24 pin)
Floppy
USB multireader
DVD burner
Physix card (but not using it right now)
4 blue led fans use the motherboard headers.
PSU 2 is used for:
2 8800gtx (4 pci-e connectors)
8 750GB sata (raided) drives
6 120mm blue led fans
All fans are adjustable and run on the lowest speed setting (very quiet pc)
1st - At 2560x1600 - the video cards were not getting enough power from the rails on the dual 750w prior design. I was getting lock-ups or reboots from not enough juice.
2nd - the SE edition of the chips use considerable more power, running 4 cores.
3rd - that's a lot of ram
Problem solved now.
At bootup, the extra power helps with the array spinning up as well.
I got my 2212's to 2.66GHz limited by board.
God that is an impressive system.I am dying myself to build a Quad Fx rig and I am sure it will be pretty similar to your rig once I have finished, minus 8gig of ram and about five HDD's of course, lol.
Thanks for the pics of that system though, it really is damn impressive and I am really envious.
16GB ram DDR2? 6TB storage? Good LORD!!!

oh the stuff inside is pretty cool too :)

Here's mine.

How's the overclocking on the ASUS KFN5-D?
I'm thinking of a kfn32-d sli
Thx
I have basically the same setup as wwwww.. These cpu's clock quite well but the mobo is the limiter.. Has next to no oc options. It will max at 2.1ghz for these cpu's... I use clockgen to get to 2.6ghz running WCG 24/7...

Oh btw those SCSI drives aren't working atm (card doesn't work on this board). Silly board only gives 1x lane to the 2nd PCI-e 16x slot if GFX card in 1st slot (SCSI card needs 4x lane).
Board does 266MHz through clock gen, bios only lets it go up to 210MHz (despite manual saying 300MHz). Asusman says, "Due to the concern of system stability, the upper value range of CPU frequency was set to 210 and it will not be changed. Sorry for this inconvenience and thank you very much for choosing ASUS product."
Has mem divider and timing options, vdimm to 2.0V (and they're all like, "warning excessive vdimm may damage memory modules").
Clockgen let's it go up to 266MHz.
I get so frustrated with clockgen though cuz you really need to take small steps with it. I'll freeze at weird numbers. Then reboot and start all over again.. But then again I dont reboot to often:)
njkid32 I would think the zalmans would be better off blowing towards the back of the case towards the exhaust fan instead of towards the front....
 yeah I realized it after I put it all together in the case. I since changed it though:)
I looked at the manual for the k5n32-d sli and it seems that there is some options for OC. However, you say thaty ASUS limits it to 210?
Probably the same for this board.
My guess is that they did this because their bios is based on the asus k8n-dl system where you cannot go above 210 in the bios without hitting a wall.
Clockgen does work though.
sick setups guys:)
The manual says it goes up to 300MHz though, kinda why I originally got it.Quote:

Hey njkid32 can you get nTune to work on your system?
I havent tried it have you?
Yeah - system hangs when I run it - tried xp-64 and xp - same problem. Also system hangs when clockgen reads PCI-e bus speed (can stop that though).Quote:

BTW, could you possibly send me some more pics of your dual cpu pc??If you pm me, I'll give you an email address to send them too. Please, I would love to see some more of it.
Send me a PM in a day or two, it's a complete mess atm - waiting on a PCI vid card so I can run this SCSI card and an SCA backplane (for my 146 gig cheetahs) so I can get rid of those silly 74gig Raptors.
And gotta tidy it up before I photograph it :P.
Gosh I hate idiots who post big images (wait that was me wasn't it :P - *curses my 1024x768*)

I'm not sure what the numbers went up to - so the last few many not work.
