Why do you not just get the multi up to 10-12 an check out for max frequenzy?
Better way than changing boards ^^
mmm i don't think this one is extreme editionQuote:

it's time of OVERCLOCKTR
Better try air or another motherboard to eliminate FSB limitations.
niiiiice man! u gotta try on a p5b to see the max freq on air!!!
why they will come out so late????
Marco
st9 1333fsb nice chip thanks guys:comp10:

That should answered all the questions.
6850 is not an EE, which is why there is no unlocked multi in the ES.
if the multi in retail chip will be limited by x9 - E6850 = pointless
i suppose it will be released sooner than expected, something like q1/2007
gj!
The only question is whether the 1333 FSB chips will have higher max frequencies. Otherwise E6850, E6600 and E4300 basically all have the same x 9 multiplier.Quote:

btw... how did u already get a ES chip???
This cpu is not extreme edition but ıt has unlocked multiplier. we'll try P5B dlx mobo because current bios not change multiplier.
That's interesting because that "Daily Tech" link also lists a "non extreme edition" E6800 that intel will be releasing that has a locked 11X multi.Quote:

Retail E6850 will be locked 6-9x or 6-11x multi but this ES chip unlocked 6-20x multi .:) Asus p5W64 ws-pro bios shown multi between 6-20x but not available up to 9X nowQuote:
