nice info, im planning to buy badaxe2 more and more..
ok, let's compare with 975 and 680i with QX6700
Normally, QX6700 can't do high FSB with those two boards.
for 975, the average FSB for QX6700 is 350~380
and for 680i, averager is between 300 to 333
680i 3.85G 32M

975 3.85G 32M

680i 3.76G 3Dmark06

975 3.78G 3Dmark06

if you check my test very detail everytime, you will see that
1.For 3Dmark06, CPU score and SM3 score are 680i > 975, SM2 is 975 > 680i
2.FSB for 680i is not very important, you see, 29x FSB 680i has better 32M time and even 300 extra cpu score compare with 350FSB 975.......
those are good comparisons
so are you saying 680i can clock RAM higher and at tighter latencies :)
with any FSBQuote:

any kind of FSB you can do DDR2 1200.
but of cuz sometime is not 1200 but close (like 1181, 1192, 1179.. divider issue)
yeah i'm aware of thatQuote:

can you let us know if there is any difference in clocking RAM between 975 and 680i chipsets anyways
like? sorry i am not quite get it!Quote:

edit, just found out 1699 and 1700 are the breaking line
FSB 1699 are good and fast 32M but FSB 1700 (425) sux
i am asking if you can compare RAM overclocking on 975 vs 680 plsQuote:

I got this....Not good 32m though:(

actually very badQuote:

i wonder what is next max FSB, maybe 1999 or 2299.... but don;t think chipset can take it
here is the proof that 1699 & 1700 FSB break line
1699FSB (424.7) fast 32M
http://www.iamxtreme.net/mobo/680i/680i_12.jpg
1700FSB (425) slow 32M
http://www.iamxtreme.net/mobo/680i/680i_13.jpg
anything above 1700+ are kinda useless now
here is 1T max overclock vs 2T max overclok on ram in 680i
1T 850 3-3-3 2.5v
http://www.iamxtreme.net/mobo/680i/680i_14.jpg
2T 1274 5-4-3 2.5v
http://www.iamxtreme.net/mobo/680i/680i_15.jpg
btw pulling memory and lower latency = useless too...
not even 1sec gain from 1200 4-3-3 to 1274 5-4-3
Nice comparisons. But 1.7v seems like a lot for 3.8GHz. Of course Asus Probe is usually not very accurate.
well, this CPU does 1.55v 4G 32MQuote:
