So far 975X/G no dropped multi's...
Like "toddm27" said the 975X/G does not allow to lower multi's and at the level of cool I am applying to keep the dewpoint just above 'condensing' moisture on the cpu...I cannot push that cpu over 4.0ghz...but currently it is a lot better than being hung back at <3800Mhz as so many air-cooled E6700's are.
What really whacks me is finding that there are next to 'no' 975 chipsets capable of handling DDR1000 for the majority of us in the real world. If I was a fortunate soul that had any claim to >DDR1000 on a 975 chipet board...even the 390x10 benches would rise I believe...but right now I have to live in the patch of reality I am given...hehehehe.

Building a new system - DFI 975x
I am building a new system, and am looking for advice. The system is designed as a water cooled every-day-stable machine. I am currently planning on utilizing the DFI Infinity 975x, and have questions about performance/stability and component selection. Current plan as follows:
- CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
This is the starting point; C2D is no contest when it comes to building a new system right now and the E6600 is the most affordable 4MB cache version. I would like to hit 400x9 on water rock stable with this system (the cooling system is as extreme as it gets really - went
overboard this summer on it).
- Motherboard - DFI INFINITY 975X
From what I read, clock for clock the 975's are the speediest. To get the most out of the 4MB cache c2d's, 975's seem to be recommended on the forums over P965's.
How much of a difference does the new board revision make?
- RAM - Need Advice
Currently looking for suggestions.
What sort of RAM does this board like?
If I were to opt for 4x1GB what sort of impact would that have using the Infinity 975x?
- Graphics - eVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS
I can't justify the extra 200 USD for a GTX.
How well does SLI work on the Infinity (I know it requires modified drivers) if in the future I wanted to expand?
Wrong forum but does anyone know if the MP-1 fits on the 8800GTS?
Thank you for your time,
