Thank you for this. You have helped my buying decision immensely.
cant wait for mine lol :)
It seems not all GTS's are OCing this high. On another forum, a guy couldn't get his 570/1800 to play FEAR without locking up.
wow that 8 series are super cards, and looks very well, the black pcb are cool stuff.
denny - im wonder , that gts and gtx card remind me the BAD geforce 5800 (cooling)
the performance are mach batter, BUT - its sound like the 5800 ? its loud ?
and - great work denny :toast:
Heh...i think there's a difference of ocing skill between denny and "some guy on another forum" :pQuote:

great new generation of cards.
These GTS's are getting clobbered in the reviews - well at least the new chinese review.
The XTX ruin's 'em. I just ordered a GTX.
I hope you did not decide to order a GTX over a GTS based on a single review of a video card at stock and that you were gonna get a GTX anyway :(Quote:

2.4C and 2500+ bartons were the exact same thing as the top modems but binned lower. 8800GTS has lower specs on everything (stuff you can't OC) than the GTX. That's why it's so unappealing.Quote:

You can't add unified shaders to G70 0_o...I'm going to send Davey Havok to crowd walk on your head.Quote:

IIRC, that one had disabled pipes too, as well as much lower clocks... But it was still worth getting... And the fact that it performed lower than a 7800GTX never made it a GF6 Series chip ;)...
It's the same now.. Were you guys actually expecting them to do the same trick with these as they did with the GF7900's?? They lost way too much money from producing the 2 different cards with the same chips, pipes and all, because people didn't need the 7900GTX to get the high performance :)
Best Regards :toast:
I am getting a GTX myself.
I am very impressed with nVidia's new HQ AF. I hope they make a "chuck style patch" for Oblivion so I can use HDR + AA.

i can tell you... yes it cooled by coolerQuote:
Denny, can you post a pic of the base of the stock cooler? I'm interested to see if any of the power regulation is cooled by the GTS heatsink like it is on the GTX.
Thanks!
i will tryQuote:
would really love to see the scores in 3dmark05 and 06 with your conroe at 2.4GHz. so id know what i can expect with my opteron @ 3ghz

seems the card i got is little bit better i think i can push the memory over 1000mhz =D
Very nice! Thanks for showing.
I was hoping to see the GTS overclocked beat out a GX2...but I don't think this will be the case. Looks like it has to be GTX if I want to upgrade from the GX2.
Thanks for the results Denny.
