I just said to hell with it and ordered 1 from the egg we shall see what happens...:toast:
My E6600 is booting into Windows at 430 x 9 and 1.18v on cpuz but at 435 FSB and higher, it just blue screens with a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I tried changing the voltage from auto upto 1.4 volts and it still fails with the same error.
Any ideas what is holding me back? I was able to run 3DMark2001 at 500x6 so I know the board and memory can handle it. Have I reached the limit of my chip?
It sounds like you need more vcore (1.45-1.50-1.55) to get 3.7-3.8ghz.
Well it's been crunching WCG for days now...One crash (I think it ran out of memory) I was downloading windows updates, benching, running VM's and such. I bumped up the Vcore to 1.350V and no more crashes. I have multitasked this to death, stable, Orthos for hours, stable. Tomorrow I will go for 3.8Ghz. Sure hope I don't need more than 1.400V. Does anyone know what the 4-4-4-12 limit is for Corsair PC-6400 (C4)? I guess I should just loosen to 5-5-5-15 huh?
Just ordered one from newegg.
Let's hope I get a good chip. If not, I will blame the thread starter....:stick:
Rofl. I hope you do to so then you can post your monster overclocks.Quote:

I just want to be able to reach 4ghz for the hell of it!:stick: :slap:
Thanks alot Orion...And if it'z another great one, do I get credit for starting the thread?:toast:Quote:

There's some guys that really deserve some sort of "credit" or reputation!
FCG, Coolaler, Andre Yang, Victor, OPB......
You dont have to get one from newegg. I just picked up a "B" E6600 from Fry's! (like 10 mins ago) Not too bad so far 1.35v @ 3.6, I think it's much better than any "A" I've tried (all 6 of them)

Did you get tray or retail? Price?
Once again let me remind everyone that the "B" stepping will be available in the states the first & second week of November:)
My question is what change did Intel make, so that most of the "B" are good performers? Please explain this to me if you want. If it is not a new revision than what is it?
Good results to all of you. :)
HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?Quote:

My vcore is lower than my other L624 yet the temps doesnt reflect it as much. I'm going to have to pick up another one tommorow to compare with this one. I have a feeling the IHS on this one aint that great.
I got a retail. It's blending 3.8 but needed 1.5v in bios w/ vdroop 1.45v for about 30 mins now.Quote:

3.8ghz 1.5vcore dual orthos blend stable? Guess I'll have to take a screenie of my L629A e6600 3.6ghz 1.53vcore dual orthos blend stable for the ebay or xs for sale pic, lol! Fry's here i come (AGAIN!, LOL)!
btw here's the mod I'm going to do for my 2 TTBT's:
http://www.overclock.net/faqs/70395-...ps-my-big.html
Should work for most air/water heatsinks with exposed flat surfaces at the base surface
Anyone ever go to Frys and have them bring a few to choose from? I think the local one here will look at me funny lol
Let's see, the conversation would be "Can I see one of those E6600 CPUs?", "This box seems a little light, can I see another one to compare it to?", "Ah, they are not the same, can I see another one?".Quote:
