You guys reffering to the dual restarts that seem to be killing the asus mobos ?
Fire them? Feed them to the pit more like :stick:

just installed it, same, no changes for me, except for the crossfire option in bios, seems to be same as 0706 as far as performance.
cold boot bug is solved but the new BIOS messed up my FSB... doesn't read FSB correctly in BIOS which results in.. weird clock frequency... for example.. when i have it set 378 * 9, sometimes it would read as 3.6G and sometimes it would read it as 2.99G...
Hell yeah, Andre! Thanks for poking ASUS guys for us enough to fix that
No more stupid shutdown everytime BIOS is saved, no more stupid shutdowns on restarting, no more HDD power-downs and that scary clicking! Kudos, man
Thanks for heads-up, Andre.:)
anyone else have this issue ^^^^Quote:

I'm interested in #4 on the changelog. I wonder if that means it won't do the double reboot when you restart your computer if you have a high fsb set.
Edit- why yes it does solve the double restart. woohoooooooooooooooooooooooo. my pump and harddrives thank you asus.
lol y flashed rebooted and got BSOD
p.d. got into windows but cpu-z now cant read codename or brand id doesnt read ram clocks
p.d.2 clockgen doesnt work :(
Tested run on CPUZ, MemSet 3.0, ClockGen, SetFSB and all works !
Use AFUDOS ONLY to flash for a complete full BIOS refresh !
Those windoze flash thing will ruin your mobo, it was designed for your grandma !
Seems okay. Also rebooted at 500X8 without the PSU shutting off.:)

took 2 reboots and 2 clear cmos but cpuz and clockgen works now :)
also new option in bios for corssfire :)
Under System Information in bios, it reads my CPU speed correctly. Same with boot-up screen.
As bing suggested, flash in DOS with afudos. It's the best way.
Don't even use the built in BIOS flasher, it will skips some of the BIOS regions if you watch it closely on the progress bar. That BIOS flasher proggy/routine can not overwrite it self and also some reserved boot block too when BIOS is running.
Buy a cheap USB thumb drive and make it DOS bootable and dump "all" your BIOS collection there + AFUDOS + Memtest for comfy OC rig ! Even 64MB USB drive is more than enough, and use that handy F8 boot selection button ! :D
Set everything to Standard speed before you flash your mobo !
here is what I am seeing in bios:

sorry last picture is blurry...
After I flash using afudos, I almost always clear the CMOS. The first time I saved the bios settings, it did do a cold boot. But after that, no problems.
Use the following command and switches if you flash with afudos:
afudos /ip5bd0711.rom /pbnc /n
You can use cap letters. It doesn't really matter.
