damn kingping ur the man!! now go for something like 1500 on 3dmark06 (lol not sure if its possible) like u did with 3dmark05
Man, k|ngp|n and Hipro are both legends. I remember seeing stuff about k|ngp|n long before ever joining XS. He still to this day has the highest OC ever reached with an Athlon chip, at least according to CPU-Z. This thread just shows why these guys are as well known as they are. They're both masters of the OC world. Although I wish Hipro would send one of those DDR Maximizers my way...:D
Oh what a difference a little cooler ambient and a better quality air cooler makes on these chips. Sitting in bios at 3.84ghz/1.6v with THERMALTAKE silent lga 775 and around 5c+ cooler ambient temps and pulling below 60c bios temps now. This little air cooler is pretty badass:

These are about the max 1m and 8m I could pull today on p5wdh on air. Higher fsb with diff multi/div combo wasn't flying.
3944mhz 1m on Air with 1.6vcore and 547mhzddr 4-4-3-1 2.66v maxi:

Like I said, some multi/div/fsb combinations didn't work when pushing for sky high ram speed, still should be interesting with ln2 and 5.3ghz the difference the ram speed makes. Will start bangin on the p5b/air prolly late tonight or tommorrow.
Was easy on AM2 for sure. P5wdh doesn't seem to be able to run all multi/div/fsb combos man. I'll tr yin on p5b for sure.Quote:

yeah try p5b, 975 must be really hard on ram. Bachus is running some c3 I think @ ddr1200 2.45v on the p5b.
i think i didn't express myself properlyQuote:

Of course, but just for testing max mem clocks... p5b might be more fun ;)
Yeap sure you can........Before doing that, test it with the DDR1 PCB (not sloted anywhere - "on air") that you already have so as to adjust it and them put it onto mobo.....Quote:

Vince could you try to play with 1:1 CPU:Rams with Cas 3-3-3-x and tight timings just for comparison?.....At the max fsb mobo could do......OR if you have any Fatbodies at Cas 3-2-2-1.......:)
Sure, that will be the last thing I will do George with the p5wdh I think. I am behind on testing a little...still havent touched p5b.Quote:

Still scaling at 3volts though, so I think there is more left. Higher fsb with/higher mem speed and LL seems to require a hell of alot of vdimm on this board:

Broke past 13 seconds 1M again fully on AIR cooling, this time with CL3 and 491mhz 3-3-3-5:

This was with 4:5 divider, so not for sure if there were issues with actual ram speed vs what is shown.
nice ram clocks and nice MAXI ... 3v
Be careful with those volts If you want to enjoy that sweet 6400C3 for some time, Vince... Those D9s, when highly overvolted for extended periods of time, seem to go by "live fast, die young" and I'm not just saying that :fact:
Impressive, as always :toast:
Here is the Max 1m and 8m I could get with 9x on Air with this chip with both cores enabled. So close to 4ghz 1m, but chip just can't do it with an air cooler. Really starts cooking under load at 1.6v actual it seems, and puts it right on the edge. LOL..my bench setup is looking like the delorean from Back to the Future. I have a rigged baffle on the ac ducting multiple 4inch line off of it and million 80 and 120mm fans and cords running everywhere, not exactly everyday aircooling heh. Had at least three or four zingers this week sticking my fingers or knuckles into fans. Air cooling is fun :D
If I drop down to 8x, the fsb will scale up to around 453-455 on air say 1m stable, but still slower cpu speed. Board was not wanting to run past 455fsb,without some more effort on my part.

You never said if the coil trick works with the p5b yet Hipro?? I really want to use the Maxi with that board as well.
You've killed some? :(Quote:

First 4ghz air bench using 10x. I know only 1m, but not as bad as SS :D
Pretty good time for low fsb and 4013mhz I think. C5 is flying 600mhz+
http://www.overclockingpin.com/p5b%2...3-5%20mark.jpg
Another 4ghz 1m with temps and higher fsb/lower mem speed. This chip runs alot cooler and needs less voltage than my b1 stepping 5 chip:

So far a little over 500mhz is the highest benchable FSB with 8x on this board I can get and keeping 4-4-3-5 and cpu on air.
Higher than 510 was instalock city when I set the clocks in windows where I left off.
http://www.overclockingpin.com/p5b%2...3-5%20mark.jpg
High fsb + high ram speed + high cpu speed kicks the chips ass on the air cooler for sure. Tuff to run all three variables at full tilt on air. Usually have to back down on one or the other.
I'm surprised you still remember how to bench on air :D
Well anyway you have convinced me, I need a Maximizer!
@ k|ngp|n - Try the 8X multi with 0614 bios (helps with higger FSB's) , this was with my unmoded P5B dlx, X6800 on air (TuniqTower) and unexpensive TG 5300, 1:1 always better results..

;)
No need to unsolder coils on the P5B Deluxe.
(yes I know SMD grabbers arent extremely accurate, but unless I had 4 arms, I can't take a vdimm reading, and picture and compose the shot while not being able to see the vdimm read point, all at the same time haha :p: )

Great chip and air result Pedro :toast:, You have 120mhz on me with that cpu. That has to help the time alot. My CPU's are limiting factor for me on benches near 4ghz on air, not the ram. Either of my cpu's won't go over 4020mhz 1:1 using the air cooler I have here atm. Most of the benches really are about just pushing the ram mhz as far as I can using the maxi so far. Close to 4137mhz with the ram speed at 610mhz+ 4-4-3-5 using 2:3 div and much lower fsb will be lower than 12.4sec I think.Quote:

@kunaak..thanx for the info man. Got plenty of clips lying around here :p:. De-soldering the coils was a :banana::banana::banana::banana: at first, especially on some am2 boards where it's bigger sized. Now I can take them off and back on fairly quick.
Thats why you solder a wire with molex on the reading point. buy 4 cheap Multimeters ;) there you go.. no hands needed :dQuote:

Working on getting this C5 kit stable over 620mhz now 1m 4-4-3-5. They seem to clock a little better than the C3's on this p5B and they shine on the Maxi too:

CPUZ Validation
Had to use a little warmer than room temp WC to get the b2 chip stable for some 8m at 4140mhz.
