Don't use r410 in a unit that is not designed for it.
Very nice cooler - congrats
Thanks guys :)
@ Clemmaster: I'm sorry but i don't understand exactly what you mean. Could you try to explain?
@ Marvin: I planned to make a yellow and black case for it, and I think i will sometime. But it will be tuned nice before i make the case.
@ runmc: Yep. I'm thinking of doing that. Or i will add a SLHX. Not sure yet. About R410A, i know it's high pressure, so i was thinking to blend with R290 or another refrigerant.
Btw, i got my new paintball CO2 bottle with regulator filled today when i was playing paintball. And the connection between bottle and regulator seems to be leak-free so I'll make a cascade when i get a better high stage refrigerant and a high pressure relief valve :)
Hello :) Did some testing with my 6800LE today. This rotary is very noisy and hot. It runs at 90-95°C. And i wear hearing protection when I'm sitting close to it for some time :D
Ready to go:

The 6800LE drivers doesn't show lower temps that 10°C :(
I did some 3DMark05 becnhing, but didn'treally get any good results.. I ran a nice GPU freq though :), 565/790MHz, very crappy mem frequency. At least I broke 6000 3DMarks. ORB link

well done good temp
Yeah, I like it :toast:
nice vaccum at load.....:)

I see my avatar there ! :D
One nice unit there Åsmund
Thanks :)
Luke: Haha, yep :p: Very nice cat btw..
But, does anybody have any idea of the size of this rotary? It's got a small sticker, i can get a pic of it if you'd like.
Wow, great temps. How much money has been spend on it?
Thanks, just the parts for this unit i guess would be something like this:Quote:

But of course i paid alot more than that to get into phase change.. :p: All the tools, brazing rods, etc..
And, i found a very small leak today, I realized i was loosing a little pressure and i was pretty sure the leak was in the low-stage as i had checked all high-side joints with soap+water and 350 PSI. So i cut off the evap and steel hose and took off some insulation tape (i was stupid enough to insulate the whole suction with tape before putting pipe insulation on the outside..). And i found the leak. It was where i thought it was, in the connection between steel hose and flare nut. It wasn't tightened enough. But I think I fixed it and it's leak-free now.
Very nice first build!!! ;)
Im Gobsmacked, :toast:
Im taking my time reading threads and gaining knowledge before i attempted anythink as we all do. Hopefull soon i can build a first unit as great as yours.
Outstanding dude. Should be proud ;)
wow, that build looks very clean. i like it!
why not use this (or make another one) for the cpu?
Thank you :D
@ m0da: It will be used for CPU too, i just wanted to do some GPU tests with a little bit longer cap tube first. I'm going to shorten captube and tune for CPU load soon i think. :)
All the pics disappeared so i uploaded them at my site and edited the posts. I've shortened the captube to about 2,9-3m.. The insulation is a little messed up right now but I'll fix it.
I just got a E6400 + 7950GT rig so I'll mount it on the GT when i find some vmods for it.
Damnit I whish people stopped benching those le's, he pwning my old scores. Still got the card, wonder what that might do under phase ;)
For a first build, at your age, I'm so awed :D
Great work (Amazing for first)! :toast:
Haha, thanks, I destroyed a LE again :p: I ran it at dry ice and the card sucked, it clocked kinda bad.. Only 500/850 vith vmods at GPU and mem. And when i was mounting my 24/7 cooler again, i ripped off a component on the card. But I think I'll be able to solder on one from my old card.
I was in a overclocking competition here in Norway the last week. I didn't do very well in the competition, i was on 6th place, but I got a C2D E6400, a MSI 975X Plat. Powerup Ed., A 2x1GB 6400 OCZ Gold Kit, a 7950GT and a Mist 500W PSU :D
Some other norwegian overclockers made a couple of webshops and OCZ give it to me as I don't have much money for hardware and I built this cooler, etc.. Hehe
I just charged with R290 again, and now it idles at about -65°C :). It's weird i get a lower idle temp after cutting off some captube.. But it could be because i got a better evac now.
You deserved the HW man.
Awesome job with the phase too.
Isnt the vmods on the 7950 GT the same as for 7900 GT?
Hehe, thanks :D.
I didn't know, I'll check it out. If it is, i will probably mount the cooler on my card one of the first days.
Edit: You're right :) Same mods for 7900GT and 7950GT. Did a quick pencil vGPU mod yesterday. But I'll sell the MSI 975X and buy a P5B vanilla  So i won't mount the cooler until i get that new board as i don't want to insulate the MSI board before selling it.
Great job with your first SS!
Couple of questions though:p: ;
Did you purge that cap-in-cap evaporator?
And where can you get condensers like that one you have?
