You can buy silver paint from electronic shops. I'm not using it right now. I use different method :D (Wire to ground from D511).Quote:

And by the way, congrats on the promotion, NickS
That card is really a very nice bang for the buck. I would have gotten one if I didnt buy the SLi setup.
I think im gonna buy one for my brothers rig ...once they are available for <200€.
raiden

very nice card!
I ordered mine from woot.com and just got mine today. Paid $145 for my 7900GS. Ordered two, but one of them is defective, so returning the broken one.
In the meantime, I replaced the stock cooler on the good one with a VF900 kit, and did the 1.4v vmod. Currently benching at 655/880 will post some more later.

Hard to tell...it can be used to repair rear window heating systems for cars.

Yes. This will work for sure!
Nice results... I have the MSI version of this card on order ($190 on eBay)... i'll post some results when I get my system set up.:)
Same. Got mine of woot. Max I could get was 1700 on RAM, no ramsinks. Stock cooler too. 525 core but I didn't want to push it any further on stock coolin. Gave me about 8563 in 05 with a 3000+ @ 2.5GHz
ive just been browsing a lil and im seeing that the pre-order price for the 7950GT is 260 euro :/
That price is bound to go down once their available wich will also make the 7900GS drop in price.
so 1.4 u connect only the purple right ?not the yellow and red with it?Quote:

You connect the left end of resist D511 to ground point for 1.4v
Here is a picture from the big 7900GT vmod thread

To make the circuit connection I used this. Local B&M Radioshack carries it

my memory clocks are getting progressively worse as I increase the core speed / voltage. I remember with the default heatsink, I was able to hit 892 memory and pass Deep Freeze on 3D06 without any issues.
After switching to a VF900 and a few vmods, I am at 1.55v and have hit 700 Core. If I bench 700/660(stock memory), it passes Deep Freeze fine, but if I even do 700/800 Deep Freeze craps out, and I get a flickering black screen to/out of desktop.
So whats going on....does my card have a bad memory controller or something? Or is increase in VCore causing a drop in voltage on memory? dunnnoo....

MCW55, with the 6800/7800 mounting kit. It should work, these cards have the same holes as the 6800/7800 iirc. If it doesn't I'm sure I can rig it on there somehow :p:.
I have Swiftech MCW50 + FX kit and it fits perfectly.Quote:

Anyone else notice how bad the stock heatsink is? I pulled off the factory heatsink and there are grooves in the heastsink. Running a fingernail across it you can definetly feel them.
