for example, plenty of AI went into both the matrix trilogy and the LOTR trilogy, as did a plethora of physics. Just because *you* don't need something doesnt mean there isnt a market.

for other PU purposes, how about mainstreamed hardware raytracers? Those have been ultra-high-end long enough ;)
Well, when first news about Ageia I said this was a much better idea, since 500 thinking NPCs add A LOT MORE to a game that 30k sparkles and tiny fliying mini-suns.
But that won't help in the human part, game scripts tend to be a little... repetitive? :D
After watcing the demos, this thing actually looks kinda worthwhile
how can HARDWARE improve AI?
I mean with physics i know its possible to build a processing unit SPECIALLY for physics calculation.
But the only way this could work is if it's just a co-processor to off load the normal CPU. this wouldn't even be anything special concerning hardware or tech :s
AI is written by a programmer and so is how intelligent it is and how it responds to different situation....
No way this thing can improve such things. a better AI programmer, THAT can improve AI, not this?

haha I was thinking about the same thing lol, it takes workload off a processor, and that doesn't do much do AI at all, just make the proc run relatively faster.
Maybe they included AI commands that supports games that uses them like the physix engine?
Im no PPU Person, but the company that makes them dont even have there drivers optizme for it. This guy from a other forum as a 7900GTX (Whatever it is) and PPU card and its about the same thing without the card enable. My system can play the game without a card and the physics seams the same compard to a video I saw of the Cell factor game:)

But I do get random lags, I guess its my AMD 64 2800+ isn't fast for it:)
I can improve AI in a game so much more then that card withouth anyone needing to spend any money on anything, except maybe developers becouse i have to get paid becouse its my idea.
