Report back: Vdimm worked for me too, thanks to you Persivore.
Okey, so I have decided to order some VR's and get this board vcore modded (by me).
So, if I understand right it should be like this:
Point -> 100k VR -> Ground ?
Thallid, the red line is right, but the blue line needs to measure the resistance from that leg to the opposite side of the little SMD capacitor
50k is fine for the job.Quote:

to bad that droops 0.04 under dual orthos.

lets see if we can make this work. :toast:
Did you gain any better results after the vcore mod?
For Vdimm I took a 10k VR. Around 10k regulating the Vdimm goes very slowly. 20k should take even longer, so I think it's better to stick with 10k VR for Vdimm. With a 10k resistor Vdimm is less then 0,1 above Bios setting, should be no problem.
Been testing my Mushkins up to 2,5V, there seem to be no problems.
before the mod i wasn't able to hit 3.8ghz on my allendale 6400, because max vcore on bios only gave-me 1.53, wich wasn't enough to clock the chip at that speed. i need 1.575 to boot to windows with that clocks.Quote:

Persivore,
what about this FET controlling the MCH voltage.

Persivore,
Or could Vmch be this one?

Here are my Vdroop measurements:
[OLD PICTURE DELETED]
Can you do the same with the 2 capacitors I've circled. It looks like they might be connected between the 2 pins from the photo.
For the Vmch mod, could someone try to get a high res picture of the entire board.
I'll continue my research tomorrow, thanks for having a look at it allready.
Good night ;)
Persivore,
It seems I've made a mistake yesterday. The restistor was not connected to Pin16 but to Pin15. My better method of measuring proved that today.
My new measurements:

R is just how I named them. It's not ment to point out that they are Resistors or Capacitors or whatever.
For pictures of the mobo look here:

Chip ID's are not very clear, my digicam is a cheap one. Just ask when you need to know a chip ID.
tkx mate, you really doing a nice job. lets wait for persivore, and see if he can pull this off.Quote:

For the Vdroop mod, connect a 50k variable resistor accross either 'R2' or 'R3'. Decrease resistance to decrease droop.
After the last pictures I posted I thought you were going to post that. Have to go eat and do some stuff, I'll report back within 2 hours.
Thx Persi
excuse me for my bad english. when you mean across, does it mean this ??Quote:

Now, when I set in BIOS 1.6V, I get idle 1,6V, and loaded 1,6V. The weird thing is that I did not had to turn the VR, it's sitting @ 50k. When I turn the pot it get's up 0.01V, didn't try further. I don't know if I had any problems with Vdroop in the past, I didn't really meassure Vcore on my board then.
I think I'm going to replace that VR with a normal resistor.
SO... it works with me, can others try it also and report back how this mod worked for them.
Big kiss for our Vmod mod :)
did you did it the way i marked it on the picture ??Quote:

Yes, just like that.
and i tought that i was going to take a lot of time in order to tune the POT.Quote:
