I have this exact cpu, ran SP2004 small fft's stable for 8hrs before stopping it at 400x9 1.51v in bios, board underload measured 1.46v. Doubt highly you'll see 4GHz without monster voltage or better cooling than water.

That would be nice. Got this E6400 in a P5B which doesnt seem to like me XMS2 and unfortunately i dont have anything else right now. Have seen better looking IHS as wel :D

Thanks for the compliments all. I know my clocks ain't nuttin' special, but isn't it great that the retail chips are starting to kick some serious arse? Good stuff. These C2D's are by far my favorite chip of all time. More giddyness than I had when I built my first A64 box. Just imagine a year from now when everything has matured-especially the mobos.

This forum is an absolute goldmine of knowledge. Lot of pros on here. Thanks all.

I have not lapped this new one I just installed yet. It needs it too. Upon further inspection, it was convex bigtime. My lapped Ultra-120 was doing the whole teeter-totter thing. I might be throwing it in my P5B D, assuming my "23" does ok in it - I'll lap it then. Should be good for a few degrees at least.

Awesome results. What temps (idle, load) do you get with which monitoring software on the 3.6Ghz @ 1.475 setup?

I am also interested in a *quiet* overclocked e6600 and am trying to decide between the P5W and P5B, so your results using the same retail chip (week 23 or 27) will be very useful. Especially if you have decided on a safe max temperature range for quiet cooling, and then you compare actual performance (Pi or 3dmark) of the P5W and P5B at the max o/c each board can reach while staying within your safe temp range.

I haven't seen anyone do this on the two m/b's. Previous comparisons of clock for clock performance, max cpu speeds of engineering samples, etc. are interesting but what many people want to know today when choosing motherboards is the ultimate performance difference at a specific retail CPU temp range that they are comfortable with.

Yeah, I second this. Head to head comparisons of the popular benches would be awesome. Everything identical but the motherboards.

I'd love to see how 3d apps are, 965 vs. 975.

Yeah, a shop near me has week 28. I'm ready to go for it if these are as good as week 27, but I might check around a bit and see if many have posted results yet.
