It does suck that failures are a complete loss.. partial credit was nice, meant ya didn't worry as about it. WHOOPS! compute error... guess I gotta put checking the oc's stability on the list... somewhere.. lessee... mebbe after pick up dog poo, but before clean room.. scheduled for feb 31st. Only day open.. Sounds about right.

Compared to my machine, which what you guys may call "mild overclock" (ok, I am a noob) I only had three bad WUs i am aware of since I started in june at R@H. I did not want to say anything to anybody, but when you mensioned it, I took the opportunity to make a general suggestion. That's all.

@meshmesh, lol, there is definatly a direct connection between failed WU's and the stability of an OC. if you are consitently getting failures then you should back off a little on the OC. some people (i'm one of them) use folding for a stability test. so we OC as far as we can, and then see if its stable by running an intensive folding app. if it returns errors then its not stable. back down a little and try again.
here, i have two inconclusive, and two invalid. looks like the invalid ones gave me full credit, and the inconclusive gave me no credit??
You will get credit for the inconclusives - they send out another WU to get crunched and once 3 results eventually match up then the status will change to Valid and you will get the points :thumbsup:Quote:

Have a look in the Boinc Manager messages tab and see if there are any red error mesages, and also check your WCG members page My Grid> Device Manager>Results Status and use the drop down menu to filter for errors etc.Quote:

Yeah, I was hoping for a 3600 MHz chip and I'm getting very close. At first I had some problems "figgerin" out my board and had disappointing results. But I did some reading, started over again and slowly. I'm almost afraid to go for 400 ( not really ), don't want to be disappointed if it won't get there. But I'm damn close, 394. I'll probably try tomorrow, though.
What are people using to monitor temps with these C2D systems? I'm using Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool. Not sure how good it is, though. If there are other monitoring apps available I'd like to try them. Cooling is a TT Big Typhoon. Also, I removed the NB cooler and cleaned it and applied AS Ceramique. I bought a Swiftech 159CU, but want to see which chip shows the most promise/or which system needs it most, before I use it.
This chip is a week 6-25, and was OEM. Hoping the retail chip I have, which is a 6-24 does as well. I keep seeing all this "woohaa" stuff about 6-27's. I hope I didn't pull the trigger too soon.
There is a special at Fry's that I'm very tempted by, even if I just "try it out" for two weeks and return it. I did that already with a BadAxe/6400 and then with a DS3/6400. This combo is a P5B Deluxe/6400. The price is 459.99. That is actually not too bad of a price. If I go for it, and the 6400 runs sweet I might just keep it. That was my goal all along, two 6600 systems and one 6400 system. Then again, I've laid out a lot of cash lately. So I'm not sure.

I assume youre using the BadAxe Scott? Ive got a P5WDH Deluxe, so im using the asus probe BS to monitor temps. Shows 49C at full load. I tend to believe it.
If you havent done so, i HIGHLY recommend lapping your E6600. My 6400 was flatter than my 6600! It makes a big different. I stopped at 1500 grit. I started with 400 grit. These IHS's are NOT flat whatsoever.
Im going to pick up a Asus P5B against my will and toss this E6600 in it. These 975s just plain suck for high clocking. I bet i get to 4ghz on water with a 965 chipset.
I cant get over 370FSB with my P5WDH...:(
