For quad-Prime, I was using 1.45v (BIOS). According to the Asus Probe monitoring program, idle was around 42C and load temps got as high as 83C! Personally I think the readings are a little off.:) Even with temps supposedly that high, Prime did not fail.Quote:

very very nice, how come you got your hands on it?
what do you think, how will things with proc. develope in near future?
I can't reveal where I got the CPU. I think quad-cores are very nice. Kentsfield is very overclockable. Only thing you need to be cautious of, is heat. They get very hot under full load.
Just Dual core E6700

This is the highest result I've gotten on air with 32-bit Cinebench.

64-bit Cinebench at 3650MHz

this is kentsfield or puse core duo 6700 oc-ed?
Those results were with Kentsfield. Even a Conroe clocked at 5GHz probably could not score 2000 in Cinebench.
well yes, but what`s the point cause programs like cinema4d need stability and conroe at 5G doesn`t give that
The reason I got Kentsfield is not to have the fastest CPU in the world, MHz-wise, though it's not a bad overclocker. When it comes to rendering speed, there's no other CPU that can touch it. This is the type of processor that would have any graphics/animation artist drooling. There's another rendering bench that the Japanese use called Mandelbrot. Until recently I had the fastest rendering time. Was finally beaten by someone running dual Clovertowns.:)

do you think it might be better then AMD`s two-socket 4 cores system?is there a comparison?
which mobo did that guy brake your record, cause woodcrest has none oc-able mobo yet?
I know very little about AMD's 4X4. The nice thing about Kentsfield is that it will work in most Conroe boards.
The person who broke my record was using a Supermicro X7AD8 board. CPU-Z incorrectly identifies the processor as Woodcrest. But under "processor selection" you will see eight cores (4 X 2).

Just tried the 64-bit Vista RC1 with 64-bit binary of Cinebench:
Single-CPU: 450CB/49 sec.
Multi-CPU: 844CB/26 sec.
nice, so vista is finally showing some improvement.will try it later, thnx
Sierra can you show us some asus P5B dlx vs P5W DH cinebench comparison?
I suspect there isn“t any noticeable difference when rendering.
I just sold my Kentsfield.:) P5B Dlx had slightly better score in Cinebench, if I recall correctly. I used that board to break 2000 with air-cooling. Not sure, but I don't think that's ever been done before on air.
The biggest problem with P5W DH is it doesn't get high FSB with Kentsfield. Low FSB really affects the score. The P5B Dlx is the only board I've tried that can do 400+ FSB with Kentsfield.
