I wish they had run F.E.A.R. with soft shadows off in some widescreen resolutions.
What did hardwarezone do so differently? In their tests, the X1950XTX gets romped on. Does this reflect performance for mid-level systems since they used an underpowered system?
EDIT: VR-Zone states that they set highest possible quality in the drivers for each card while hardwarezone doesn't say.
vr zone doesnt favor any maker of card... while hardware zone appears to
that is probably why things are so different,
Nvidia takes a huge hit when the IQ levels in drivers are comparable to ATI.

I would like to see crossfire 1950 VS Quad SLI at 2500x2000 res. I dont know if 1600 is enought to push quad sli.

but is a 750watt psu good enough to power a x1950xtx crossfire setup with a overclocked conroe and 2 hdds and a optical drive, a sb audigy zs or a fatal1ty and the thing they come with
How come when you put in more AA the scores between GX2 and X1950 get closer ? They should get wider as more bandwidth on the Ati card ?

That's a much bigger performance boost than I was expecting. The 19% average boost over the X1900 seems high, but a 33% increase in bandwidth boosts 3DMark06 performance 33%? How is linear scaling like that even possible?
The other thing is, I can't figure out how in the hell they're going to sell this thing for $399. Between the cost of GDDR4, which has no economy of scale yet, and the machining costs for that cooler, ATI couldn't make much off a card at that price. (Or maybe I'm just trying not to kick myself for picking up an X1900XTX for $330...being delivered today.... :slap: )
Hardware zone has no articles or prices or anything at all about ATI card.
Very very few stuff..so it looks like they want this card to look bad.

VR-Zone has too many simultanious connections - can`t see the review :(
basically they provide the better the memory bandwidth regardless of timings the better the ATi card will perform
the looser timings cause the 3d mark benchies to be lower, but who cares? i only care about the fps i get
