not bad ram zillaoc. you probably can get that to 5-5-5-15 and up some voltage =D
How is it possible that using a DVI connection vs VGA causes overclocking problems? THis doesn't make sense to me.
"Mine has somehow fixed itself after upgrading bios and installing drivers from CD... I’m not 100% sure what causes this. "
On the CD/DVD drive issue..I was having issues too, even after installing the latest firmware and software from cd. I updated from bios F2 to F4c and besides there being some windows problem which required a system restore in safe mode...the new bios in conjunction with latest firmware seemed to do the trick for playing DVDs with VLC, all three i tested work now. However...WMP seems to read there is no disc on the drive still, but this may likely be a software issue using wmp 9 installed with windows-i should update.
Still can't boot with OCZ800 RAM. Everyone seems to say that putting in some cheap ram and updating the BIOS then upping the DIMM Voltage +.2 or +.3 makes it work (which I did), but it still does the exact same thing after all that, even with one stick OCZ in. Fans start up, but I get no signal on the monitor and don't get the startup beep.
Any suggestions? Using a Seasonic 430W PSU, MSI 7600GT Card, and E6300.

Can anyone reading this thread confirm that the DS3/DS4 works fine with Gskill LA 5400?
cheers!
irenic: i'm thinking about that ram i still can get the OCZ plat which runs SUPERB too but i just have to boot up and get the F4C Bios update.-- i'm still thinking about it -- BTW: Mhz. and timings are kinda loosened too much. don't think i'll ever need ram to run at 1000 Mhz lol
Cool_dude: if Gskill is about 1.9V it should do perfectly fine unless the DS3/4 doesn't like that kind of ram. pS: most people only have problems with the PC26400 DDR2800 rams cuz they're usually higher voltage.

Gigabyte DS3
i have tried Team Group DDR2 1000 5-5-5-15 and Corsair XMS2 Pro DDR 533 3-3-3-8 with no problems to boot
It should... I have a E-IDE Samsung DVD-RW...and it works, mind you dvd playback didnt work at first with the mobo on the stock F2 bios, but F4C seemed to work for me and who knows the F3 might too. I'm going to test burning dvds tonight.Quote:

Can any 1 confirm if the G.Skill 2GBHZ DDr2 800
My system failed to boot, and i have no other ddr2 to test on the system
I power it on, it runs for rnd 2 secs before powering down, it duznt seem like a ram issue to me, but just to be sure, cud sum 1 tell me if its the memory?
Very nice FAQ, should be extremely helpful for both existing and future DS3 owners.
To hold off till RD600 or jump DS3 now.....hmmmmm XD
Anyone have an answer to this: In POST and BIOS, my e6300 is correctly recognized at 1.86 with multiplier x7. But in CPU-Z, it says multiplier is x6 and core speed is 1.60 ... ?
EDIT: Using F4C BIOS...
@MQuartermass
it's normal. when not used the cpu slows down...
damn i won;t write the features of the cpu in the faq :P
So to OC this board I have to dump my logitech G15 keybaord and MX1000 mouse? How do any gamers use this board!
ARGGHHHHH!
I have a conroe in my hands wanting a mobo.......
