Do you have a address where you bought the PRO version?
Hi to all
I have two question about this motherboard:
1- what happen if I put a normal PCI card in a PCI-X slot? Can I force the other PCI-X slot to go with the full bandwidth?
2- Is possible put a Pcie x1 card in the second Pcie x16 slot? If yes the first Pcie x16 slot will drop to x8?
Thanks
Ugo

There were some server boards that had a single PCI-X slot on a seperate controller so you could do what it sounds like you are asking for. But in a board like this I'm sure all the PCI-X slots are on the same controller.
Thanks for the replies

did you run those 32M superPI windows at the same time or one at a timeQuote:

natalia, flash to this bios when you get up and running, http://edu.tchsien.com/CBB/coolaler/...S-PRO-0004.rar and then in chpiset options in the bios, set "read delay" to 7 for best results. ;) good luck!Quote:

Very simple. Look at the difference in FSB. Higher FSB on the same board will be faster than a lower FSB at the same cpu clock rate. His 32m is only a couple seconds slower than mine with my E6400 @ 3.6ghz with 450mhz FSB. His 1m beat mine by a little less than half a second.Quote:

so according to you going from DDR2-834 to DDR2-946 will gain me another 2 minutes.............hehehehQuote:

Sometimes raw power is more important. This is what I got after half a day with the P5WDG2 WS Pro. Air cooling.:)

One other thing I forgot to mention. A 975X will crush a 965 board in 32M. I found that out with the P5B Dlx. Great for high FSB. But terrible for Pi, unless you get extreme clocks.
nice overclock thereQuote:

it would be nice to get you to compare Asus P965 and 975X chipsets in SPI performance all else equal :)
PLEASE DO a comparison between the WS Pro and P5B DlxQuote:

Well, what I can tell you is my P5WDG2 WS Pro is better for 32M than my P5B Deluxe. But if high FSB is your thing, then stick with 965. I did run 32M with my 6600ES at 4400MHz (dry ice cooling) on the P5B and I was so shocked by the result that I didn't even bother to save it. My P5WDG2 WS Pro would have beaten the time with 400 less MHz.
I will try to run a comparison test in the near future.:)
yeah no worriesQuote:

965 is slower than 975x on the same speed, fsb and momery speed , especially gigabyte 965 is so slow.
gigabyte DS3
i will be testing Asus P5B Deluxe
it seems that this 965 motherboard is even faster than 975X boards or same as them
