IMHO, if Coolaler passed 370 and got to 460FSB with this board..its nothing to do with the CPU...the memory controller is on the board so......

I`m ready bo buy, wish I could find a board with no major problems and good OC ability. Bet a lot of you are in the same boat.

This looks a nicely laid out board, and I can pick one up at a local store to me. This bit on there web site is a bit of a worry though... MSI Reminds you: Please use MSI Live BIOS tool to upgrade BIOS of this product.

Does that mean it wont work with conroe out of the box like Asus P5W DH?

check this link here for mods, Kyosen could not get past 460, so it seems ok. I dunno how far it goes stock though. You will have to register on Onepagebook's forum to see them though..

1/ depends on FSB capability
2/ depends on FSB capability

if ya get an E63 or E64...you`re guaranteed to get "some" extra out of the board...just depends on what kinda FSB the board generally does, and how fast ya learn it. RAM depends on dividers...no dividers mean 1:1 at best, so you`ll need some decent PC6400 minimum to OC any worthwhile amount

I've circled the only USB header on the board.

For those of you who will be using two PCI cards, you may have trouble using the USB header and the seating of your card. I've had trouble like this with boards before.
Or if you plan to SLi/Crossfire and you have only 1 PCI card. The PCI card will only fit into the bottom PCI slot as the second graphics card will block access to the first PCI slot.
Just a heads up for you guys out there.

that is the firewire header, the USB head is further down to the left of the bios chip and that green looking thing looks like a onboard power LED :eek: which has almost never been on a MSI board (at least the ones that i've owned). way to go MSI!

Ha! You caught that just literally a couple of seconds before I deleted it as I was looking into it more detail and realised it was a firewire header after looking through the manual.
There are two USB headers. The firewire header has been placed in an awkward position though you must admit.

it is, but it is doable with a audigy 2zs/X-Fi there.

this board looks nice, just i'm still debating to cross over or not. :rolleyes: :confused:

Ok I'm probably making this post a day early, but will the Thermalright Ultra-120 clear the northbridge heatsink? Or will an XP-90 with the RM adapter have to be used ?-.-

I noticed this motherboard has a few non-solid state capacitors? Does that matter or will it effect overclocking in anyway? I am no electrical engineer so I would like it if someone could explain it to me.

You can flash the BIOS with any removable bootable storage. For instance, I flash my MSI boards off USB thumb drives. Never use that Live Update crap, it sux.

That's great. I hate having to find my floppy drive and floppy cable and power adapter for the floppy drive. I really can't wait to get this board.

10am eastern time I ordered the MSI and E6400 from them, maybe they finally ran out of their first batch. Price was pretty good. Hope to see mine in a few days.

yea, much to my irritation though, I found that if you went through froogle to get the MSI 975@eWiz, it was 185 instead of 190.55 the other night :mad:

you ordered f/ eWiz? If it doesn't say in warehous in your ewiz account, I would think that they are stalling....:confused:
I ordered fri. evening and received a tracking # today, but ups doesn't have it on file yet...
