am i safe at 1.58??
also whats the default voltage for the memory? it does 1250 easily at its default.
How exactly do you measure with multimeter.
put one lead to the case (just jam it in a gap around the hdd area) and the other to the read point as shown earlier in the thread.
do not slip whilst measuring as you could damage your card as the pc has to be turned on and runing something like ati tool or 3dmark.

You can't get higher voltage with this method, because Intersil 6563 uses AMD hammer VID codes. So all five pins (VID 0-4 pins) connected to ground give 1.55V
If someone could disconnect pin 3 from ground (DACSEL/VID5), ISL6563 would read VID codes from VRM9.0 table. So maximum voltage would be 1.85V
@SF3D, you dont need to do that for the 1.5 bios + 0.05 mod. i did the bios and the 0.05 mod as show earlier in the thread and acheived the desired results, 1.53 with bios mod and 1.58 with the vmod.
your new method is in fact harder to do, previously for each, all u need to do is drop a blob of solder between each set of pads. (conductive paint is too messy)
ive managed to get this on 1.58v:

setting to 500mhz, bumps the other 2 upto 513 and gives artifacts :/
Hello everybody. I've tried to do the vmod in my XFX 6800GS XXX, but it doesn't work. I've tried 5 times with conductive paint (with silver), but nothing results :stick: . Always remains at 1,4V in 3D mode.
Can anyone explain me how to make good contact between the two points?.
Thanks.
Help pleaseee:(Quote:

What exactly did you change? I've tried connecting the traces to boost my 6800gs vGPU by ~0.15v but I'm not seeing any increase in OC headroom or load temperature.Quote:

edit: I connected the pin to ground that would increase voltage by 0.1v, and I get no change :P
edit2: as far as I can tell the simple vgpu +0.1v and +0.05v mods don't work on my pcie 6800gs, there's a complete circuit but no change in 2d or 3d voltage (steady 1.4v either way). I'll try the 10k ohm trimmer mod once I've had some practice soldering very small things :P
this might work with regular 7800GT but what about on a XFX 7800GT that comes with a molex connector (7800GT non reference designs) ? :(
Hi!
I have an original 7800GT with exactly the same PCB as shown on the pictures before..i just made the pencil mod on vGPU and i don't see any change.

He founded how to increase the voltage, but there is no explaination...are we oblige to use this with nibitor? It would be strange,i thought we didn't need that...i hope someone could help me...Thank's a lot!!Quote:

Nobody has the answer?
Hi Zygomatikdan!
You can't do this mod with pencil. You have to connect points totally with silver paint or something similar.
You found this old thread :D
Here you go:

ive done both mods here now and top out at 1.58v, i was at that before with the bios mod (which is still active) as well as the 0.05v mod.
is there any easy way for me to get it to ~1.63v ?
I tryed Hard moding my Card and now (witht he mod taken off) my vgpu is still 1.9v ne ideas? on how I can fix it ? Would putting a bigger ristance like 20 -30k bring my vore back down to safe levels ? ( like 1.7ish )
Console-
I think the resistor in mod point is not contacting pcb properly. You need to resolder it.
ah nvm, i gave upto 1.7v to see if 500 (540/513/513) would ever get stable, but it never. guess mine is a lame core, memory is good though at doing 1390mhz with 2.2v
Can someone repost the pics of the actual mod, im stuck at 475 core :(
