Agreed, I cannot figure why people are so OBESSED WITH A UNREALISTIC FSB??? Isn't the ole addage true that you have to have a cherry picked center waffer CPU in order to do that anyway??

Oh and by the way are you a male or female? I'm getting confused...I wanted to refer to your post and his/her but didn't know which to use...

If people want to run 100% stable at 4GHz, my suggestion would be for them to get an X6800. It will be much easier to achieve that goal with that CPU. Granted, the X6800 costs a lot. I'm not a fool. I got my E6600 up to 4054MHz, and I know it's not 100% stable at that speed. That was just for fun. :) I'm pretty sure I would have no trouble running at 3.9GHz 24/7. That's good enough for me on a daily basis.

Kyosen's board is modded. I believe he was using 1.9v for Vmch and 2.8v for VDimm. Not a good idea to run VDimm that high 24/7. :)

QFT I was thinking of the X6800 as it appears it can run off a PC6400 with ease according to these reviews:

But what I don't get is the lower latency @ DDR2 1067 (5-5-5-15) vs DDR2 800(4-4-4-12)???

100% fsb overclock is not unrealistic.

I know it is not good to compare it to amd but many amd chips hit that.

And I had a few dothans that did 100% fsb oc as well. Also celeron and NW.

This however might be because of lower stock fsb

1.9V for Vmch is right, but 2.8V for Corsair 5400UL(v1.2) is too high, I think:)
Actually 2.4V for Vdimm in case which you reffered at #25 post.

BTW, 2.8V for newer/smaller Micron D9 is not too high, at least SuperPI 1M run:

Thanks for the correction. :) Have you tried the 0078 BIOS? I don't know if it's the same as 0602, but I like it.

what BIOS would you recommend for me? 0078, 0602 or stick with 0065? i have to admit, i'm lost as to which one is newer/better. is there some naming convention that i am overlooking?

I've used 0401, 0065, 504 and 0078. I like 0078 the best. 504 isn't bad either.

Someone said that 0065 and 0502 are the same thing. I haven't been able to confirm that. I'm not sure why Asus put 0401 on many of the boards. That BIOS is not even on their website. I have a feeling 0401 may be a re-work or the same as the 0401 used for the P5WD2.

Yeah, I tried 0401, 0065, 0502, 0504, 0602, 0078,
and finally 0078 looks getting ability of proper Vcore control:)

For some reason, SetFSBs slider is already maxed out whenever I open it. I rebooted, since you said that you might need to reboot if you have problems, but it doesn't help. I've attached a Capture of what it looks like.

Could you check "Ultra" box before clicking the "Get FSB" button?
