Guys
A few things you need to know, the board is locked at the strap the CPU is set to at this time..>IE if you have a 1066fsb CPU you are locked to the 1066 strap. To clock over 370fsb easy you need to be in the 1333 strap so running 400+ is already very good.
I have already proven here the DFI in the 1066 strap is faster than badaxe in the 1333 with a lower CPU speed, so please don't be put off by early showings of results, bios files are being tweaked and we should see some more performance from the board soon.
lastly, this is an Infinity, it is NOT a lanlarty board...take that into consideration. I am personally waiting for the ATI chipset board from DFI as if its close to the ATI reference it is going to be a monster.
Some tips for early users.
set the Sata frequency to equal the PCIE freqency, set the PCIE frequency to OC mode and push it to 101fsb...this will allow higher fsb overclocks on the cpu.The NB needs more juice also but be prepared for it getting hot....good cooling is needed.
Which M/B would you recommend Tony? P5W DH Deluxe or DFI Infinity?
Thanks.
I can't recomend any yet as I have not tested them, i have the infinity and the ATI reference along with a badaxe. i can't comment on the ATI but the infinity and badaxe are strong boards with the infinity being better for ram overclocking.Quote:

I'm thinking about P5W DH Deluxe, would that be a bad move?
"Tarosa in Japan has begun testing the DFI Infinity 975X/G. I'm not sure the reason for the strange PCIe/PCI readings in Clockgen. Decent results, but Tarosa indicates the board may be picky about memory. As he puts it, "DFI, what's going on?""
of course...its a DFI.

If you can afford a Conroe system, you can afford SATA storage. ;)
The infinity 975X will be available in romania 6 days from now ! w00t :)
Just 3 Days.. :DQuote:

Maybe the first tiny batch. Well that's at least how it's going to be like in germany. I emailed the DFI Europe Supporter and he told me that only a few get shipped to certain distributors and the next bigger batch will come in a FEW WEEKS!
I dont agree with the comment on sata storage. Sure the motherboards are expensive at the moment but the cpus wont be too bad (relatively speaking).
Changing say 2 large hard drives and an optical drive or 2 to sata is the type of thing that would make it expensive.
Luckily they tend to have one ide channel so i can use one hdd and my dvd-r/w.
It's your own fault if you still buy "large drives" with IDE Connector. You can't await to get compatibility forever.
Kyosen has also posted some results with the DFI board.

:) Nice LGA suport for Nexxxos XP :P
Is it known how well he did with that same chip in other boards?Quote:

Well said! There simply is no clear "best board" for Conroe right now. And, I don't beleive there will be for a while. I'm thinking a "round 2" of boards may be far more interesting this fall. Until then, we need to see the rest of the first round of boards which haven't even surfaced yet.Quote:
