People need to remember...
this is a Value Line board.
so it's gonna lack some of the top of the line features, like the Digital PWM, fancy caps and such, and the UV coating, bight black yellow look.
all thats being saved for the Lanparty version of this board.
this is a value board.
sigh, I'll buy the first conroe board that doesnt have a crapload of caps next to the socket making it dangerous to phase.
goodluck, cause I have yet to use a LGA board that wasnt cramped right to the edge of the CPU socket...Quote:

its not a DFI thing... its a LGA thing.
that just seems to be something they do on all LGA boards.
I'm with One_Hertz on this one, yeesh!Quote:

Otherwise I guess I'll just have to pay and send it to someone skilled to rip off those capacitors and put them at the back of the mobo for me. I am jsut way too scared for my rig so phase it with those things in the way.Quote:

whichever board hits the market and runs 450-500MHz FSB consistently will be a winner......DFI did that with NF4 A64 line among many other things :)
dam man. thats alot of effort just to move the caps out of the way. Funny thing is, one of the girls at my work could swap out that boards entire caps in under 5 minutes... I've seen her replace an SMD cap and it took all of 30 seconds from the time i handed her the board to the time i had it back in my hand.Quote:

Nice board but I'll be sticking with my bad axe until something more feature rich and oc friendly comes along. I need a foundation for my 24/7 gamer/media rig and this one is just a tad short on the goodies (only 4 SATA connectors?) Things are moving in the right direction though. The Lan Party version will be nice.
If this becomes available soon, it'll be what I get. Just something to get it clocking and stable for a 24/7 Rosetta cruncher.
So how will the Lanparty version stack up to the RD600?
I know both arn't out, but any educated predictions as I'm fairly uneducated regarding mobos..
LOL!!! I had it on my pricelist for a while! Israel oWnZ!!! :D
well, in the amd world, dfi is king, the biggest complaint you get from dfi board owners is usually, 'too many options', lol
in my experience, dfi's only limiting factor is the chipset, so if the chipset is the best, then the dfi board will be the best for that chipset
i hope this experience translates over to intel
when can i get this in frys???
any idea on prices
infinity shouldnt cost that muich im guessing $199, but it could be $249.99 since its liek the only board out there with support for conroe
well considering all the boards that actually support Conroe right now, cost over $220. I find it unlikely for DFI to be under the $200 barrierQuote:
