Hah! And I thought conroe would be a worthy replacement for dual xeons :D
Hmm.. with this in mind, I was thinking of saving up for an X6800. If Kentsfield's are priced similarly, I might just pick one of them up.
Things are mooving way faster that usual :D
COOL!

Peachy :) Anyone got a Woodcrest?
As long as FCG and Fugger don't mess with our heads with the kentsfield I think we will be all right.
We don't be crashing the servers again.
Would love to see some benches on any/all of those..I'm sure I'm not the only one:DQuote:

I hope you plan to do some Rosetta@Home with that baby! I would love to see the benches on it from the BOINC client. Sure is a good way to test stability! Hint Hint!
Amazing info... and yes I think it is going to make a wave when it hits XS :)
There is something interesting on my mind! Is it possible to shut down every 2nd core on Kentsfield's two dies so we could have ultra-powerful dual core Conroe with no shared cache, but 2 cores with 4MB's of cache each? :D
I'd like to see what two overclocked Clovertowns could do...would be quite the sight to see...;)
Man alive... new chips are coming faster then I can get the old ones....
LOL, you got that right.

Edit: Need one of them for 8 Gigs of FBDIMM 667 2GBx4 and two 5140s
Awesome...this would be great for rendering...maybe I'll hold out till the start of next year.
