Hmm.. with this in mind, I was thinking of saving up for an X6800. If Kentsfield's are priced similarly, I might just pick one of them up.

As long as FCG and Fugger don't mess with our heads with the kentsfield I think we will be all right.

There is something interesting on my mind! Is it possible to shut down every 2nd core on Kentsfield's two dies so we could have ultra-powerful dual core Conroe with no shared cache, but 2 cores with 4MB's of cache each? :D

I'd like to see what two overclocked Clovertowns could do...would be quite the sight to see...;)

Keep me posted on the board you get please? I been awaiting boards...I looked at supermicro and tyan so far. I don't know how stable and reliable since they are since they are fairly new.

Edit: Need one of them for 8 Gigs of FBDIMM 667 2GBx4 and two 5140s

Awesome...this would be great for rendering...maybe I'll hold out till the start of next year.
