No PA 120.3 in stock should I go with a GTS 360?

That is true, but the price to performance ratio is twice as good on the Swiftech, and maybe even the Black Ice series.

Again though, the bottom line is, if you have the money, you'd be best off with the thermochill.

well, thats true for everything in wc isnt it?

you can have an adequate loop with an apogee, an eheim 1046 and a bip, but if you can afford a storm, ddc-ultra and pa then you'll be better off :)

If you had to choose, which would you buy.

A: DDC Ultra + MCR 320

B: MCP 655 + PA120.3

PA + D5 tbh, changing pumps is easy but changing rads is a major PITA because theres like 5 different fan spacings - IIRC BIP/BIX/MCR are the same but BIGT is narrower and PA is certainly wider than all others.

Lets say you were building from scratch, would the extra heat dissapation from the PA outweigh the heatdump of the MCA665, as opposed to a sligtly worse performing rad but with the cooler and quieter DDC-U ?

i would go with the D5 + PA

That depends a lot on what blocks you have in your system, tbh. And it also depends on how fast you plan to run the fans - w. YLs 5v, the PA + D5 will almost certainly win in temps vs. another rad with fans @ same speed.

There is also more factors to choosing a PA or not than the price, most notably the fact that theyre HUGE - at 60mm thick + gasket + 25/38mm for the fans and 25mm between the fan screws, its a struggle fitting them anywhere. Ive used petrol-powered microbikes that pack into spaces smaller than a 120.3 + fans.

The ideal solution would be to take a PA and a DDC-Pro and be done with it... Pro gives ~10ft head which is really more than enough for a Storm/MP-05 + 2x Maze 4 loop on a PA120.3.

Going from Pro to Ultra is like going from Porsche 911 to a to a 911 GT3... there's a lot of "every last 0.5c" maniacs here, me included, so I end up recommending the Ultra a lot, but if youre going to spend 50$ more to go for a PA so you can undervolt your fans more - remember diff @ 12v is like 1c - you mise well 15$ on top of a D5/50Z and get the quietest good pump around.
