(also love the capitlization of a SI unit prefix.. quality editing, to say the least ;))
the vdrop isn't just a problem of the boards. asus could produce Mobos without vDrop without any problems, but the Drop is Intel Spec since Northwood... if Silicon is under load it just doesn't need that much Volt any more to keep its status (read a articel about this, pretty sure I retold it correctly)Quote:

According to the Inq (I know, I know), it's up 6.3W total, 5.5W of that coming from the NB. I'd assume this is from the fact that it can officially handle 800Mhz memory. Power draw aside, the P965 boards might be able to pull significantly higher performance numbers if are able to push beyond the 450Mhz wall present on the 975X boards.
that abit board (the 1st one pictured) has one of the strangest layouts. look at the sata headers between the pci and pci-express slots
LOL, that ABIT board is cracked out. It's got SATA slots put randomly around the board, the IDE channel in the middle of the PCI slots, and what's with the random 12V molex connector on the ABIT, MSI and ECS boards?
Looks like they just took some components, tossed them up in the air and fitted them where they landed... I mean, how do you manage to fit a IDE flat ribbon cable in the middle of the board, between PCI and PCIe slots??? :slap: :stick:Quote:

Will the mATX boards be coming out at the same time as the normal ones? I need mATX! :D
i just hope there are better/more mobos than those.. i need 4-5 x16 pci-express slots damit! :D
this pic is different but same mobo?

looks realy interesting. high quality caps, 12 phase power ect.
My money is on the Asus too I think, they look to be the real innovators with the P5B Deluxe.
Is the 965 chipset any worse than 975 then? What's the difference? Are none of these boards Crossfire compatible or something?
Crossfire + i975X/RD600 = All
Ps: Nice pics. :toast:
:woot:
Don't count on it. I'm afraid these things are going to go for premium prices. At least for the first few months.Quote:

agreed, with what has been seen so far that is the best for me. However I am very interested in the ati 600 chipset.Quote:

I' sure there will be sub $120 board at launch.
I have. When the A8N32X-SLI came out back in November the boards commanded a premium price. I know I paid $250 + tax for my board.Quote:

I just can't get why they would ever charge more for 965 than 975..when 975 is supposedly the "enthusiast" board. If they do, I'll just get the 975 =/
True.. Most 975X board are already released (waiting new revision) so If there is a shortage of P965 that increase the price, just get a good "old" 975X....Quote:

If I can't fins a Core 2 CPU, I might upgrade anyway and get a 805 while waiting.. by this time, the 805 will be sub $100..
