i think cause it switches on and off REAL fast to get the desired voltage... large caps to smooth things out on a large scale aren't needed? but it explains the small smd caps to filter out all the high frequency noise it would make

The most interesting thing to me are the missing PWM heatsinks. That means that even these hardcore oc boards produce very little heat - and thats great.
DFI could have the best oc and the lowest power consumption board in one - thats crazy.

The only drawback of this powerregulation is the cost - I was told.
Lets hope the boards stay below 200Euro.

That's the nicest looking layout I have ever seen on a board. I also like the 3 PCI slots. It would be nice if manufacturers would use only 1x PCI-E slot. It's almost like they use 2 just to create space gaps for the 2 16x PCI-E slots. Gotta love the copper!

why DFI not use heat pipe cooling for north and south bridge like ASUS,GIGABYTE etc :confused:

don´t you see the ceramique-paste on them, and the dfi-style mounting-holes?

Now they need to fill out that open space with something Nasty ;)

I Couldn't find any data sheet on that Digital PWM :(
