ATI RD600 Photos + a little ATI Physics Details

Could you have 2 cards and use one for physics or is it required that you have crossfire in order to have a physics card? I see no reason why the first option wouldn't work. If that is the case it's not such a bad idea, whenever you upgrade your videocard you basically upgrade ur physics card with ur old videocard, but if it's the second option I'm pretty dissapointed, I still don't like the idea of 2 videocards, now we need 3?

we have not heard of any manufactures besides DFI that plan to have an R600 board (this will certainly change). DFI plans to mass produce their board in August as per this roadmap:

Hopefully we will see the DFI and other boards by July 23rd

man that looks promising. I like the big gap between the PCI-E slots, no clearence probs with high end cards and/or good cooling. Crossfire+Physics+Conroe= Seriously :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:in gaming/benching rig! :toast: :banana: :woot:

Independent memory overclocking. Independent FSB overclocking. There are controls for each one. So now you can max out both memory and FSB at the same time.

Also there's no funny business going on with memory speed when the FSB is heavily clocked...like some other solutions. ;)

I' more interested in the independent memory OCing. The pci-e graphics clock and other pci-e clocks are separate. So no worries about pci-e onboard devices or plug in devices (other than graphics) failing at elevated clocks.

The reference mobo doesn't have three PCIe x16 slots but it is supported in the chipset.
